Location, breakfast and design

We stayed for 2 nights whilst passing through Madrid. The location is fantastic, right on the edge of Parque El Retiro. The staff were super helpful, we have 2 young kids and had a lot of bags, so we were a little all over the place and staff helped out a lot and arranged an early check in for us.

Overall the Wellington is a beautiful hotel with elegant sumptuous decor. However, the best part of this hotel is its staff, who goes truly above and beyond to assist their clients and make them feel at home.

Very clean and comfortable room!

The staff were all very excellent

I just wanted to stay somewhere central, clean and at a good price- the property met all my needs and offered great service. The breakfast also offered variety and was cheap.

There a garden at the back which is nice to get some fresh air. Also a friendly cat was in the garden. Kitchen space is big and the staff were great and pack up a breakfast for me.

Excellent and very affordable option for a night's stay for busy people. Nothing to complain about and nothing to miss. Fully automated check-in system. Plenty of bathrooms on the floor (actually, it feels like you have a personal bathroom rather than a shared one, because the one is usually just next door). There is a water cooler on the floor free for usage. Quiet and comfortable. There were some people in other rooms, but no one caused any inconvenience or disruption.

The reception staff were very kind and spoke good English. We slept well the bed was comfortable. AND the cleaning lady was absolutely amazing. We stayed in room 407, and she cleaned the room, changed the towels and bed linen every day without us even asking. She truly deserves a salary raise. The metro is just around the corner, which makes it very easy and quick to get to the city center. We would definitely choose this hotel again if we return. The only downside is that there is no balcony for smokers, and the view it was facing an interior courtyard surrounded by walls, so not very pleasant. Overall, I would still give it a 10.
