I was greeted by the manager who instantly knew my name and showed me to my cosy room. Facilities in the room were good. Coffee machine and kettle with gorgeous cups. Could do with more breakfast tea.tlThere is also a fan available for those who like to sleep a little cooler. I had the breakfasts over my stay, which were very nice. The meal at the wedding was lovely too.

The view from the hotel across the Tyne valley is spectacular, especially at night. We love the fantastic cooked breakfast and it is the main reason that we keep returning to The Gibside - it's one of the best breakfasts! The food in the restaurant is delicious and the Christmas menu this time had some lovely dishes - we were spoilt for choice and thoroughly enjoyed the turkey and the slow-cooked beef. The staff, especially in the restaurant and at breakfast, are very welcoming and friendly, creating a lovely environment.

Spacious rooms,, pleasant bar and restaurant and breakfast room with nicely cooked breakfast. Good free parking at back of hotel. Quiet . Tesco next door. Near to Gibside NT estate.

It is always a lovely stay at the Gibside. Staff on reception were great, staff in the bar too. great advice on food choices and all round top team. We were nearly late for breakfast but the lovely lady working there ensured we had a delicious one, thank her for that again please. We brought 4 friends with us and they loved it too.
