Our stay at Vetera Matera was truly unforgettable. The location is simply breathtaking, set in the heart of Matera’s historic beauty, offering a unique atmosphere that feels both timeless and deeply relaxing. The room was exceptional—beautifully designed and incredibly atmospheric, with a stunning cave-style interior jacuzzi that made the experience feel luxurious and one-of-a-kind. Every detail was carefully curated, creating a perfect blend of comfort and authenticity. The spa was equally impressive—an absolute highlight of our stay. The facilities were top-tier, offering a serene and rejuvenating experience that elevated the entire visit. A special mention goes to Francesco, who was incredibly kind, professional, and attentive throughout our stay. His recommendations truly made a difference, especially the “Zero Body” treatment, which was an amazing and unique experience—deeply relaxing and unlike anything we had tried before.

This is a magic place. Old caves made luxurious. Totally unique and romantic. Very nice and helpful personel. The view from the rocks and the city itself are breathtaking. Definitely worth coming back!

It’s one of the best hotels I’ve ever stayed. Breakfast & dinner were included. The service was top notch. The staff were very friendly. The facility is so clean. The indoor pool was awesome. I love everything about this cave hotel. Elevator is also available.

The hotel was nice. Room was clean, and it is close to the main Piazza of Matera. Breakfast was also good, but not much fresh fruits. Parking space was at the building at reasonable price.

In the centre of Matera, this boutique hotel offers a beautiful view of Matera. The room offers a hot tub, a king-size bed and a private bathroom. The room also has the option of soothing music. A very friendly receptionist who explains the whole exploration through Matera. Breakfast was also varied and delicious.

Thanks to you, the three days and two nights in Matera were very pleasant, with the best view from the door of the room, and my favorite Fanta and natural water in the refrigerator. Even if we booked only one of the cheapest standard double rooms, the view was very good, we wanted to upgrade to a larger room type for the second night, but it was booked out. The sheets and bath towels were the cleanest I had been on a 10-day trip. We took a lot of good photos, the staff were warm and friendly and made us feel relaxed, the dinner was delicious, suitable for Chinese tastes, the breakfast was rich and exquisite, there were many kinds to choose from, the cave hotel and cave restaurant were very special experiences, it would be a pity to miss! I will introduce this place to our Chinese friends. I wish you all the best

Incredible experience to sleep in a cave, esp. because everything is in ancient design.

A fantastic experience from the time of booking until the time of our departure. We (a family of 2 adults and 3 teenagers) stayed for 2 nights in the family suite. We also booked the private spa area. Breakfast delicious. Couldn’t fault Cenobio Hotel. Staff so helpful and professional. 5 stars all round.
