The hotel was great, and the staff were very friendly and helpful. Especially Mr. Hamza, who gave us detailed information and took great care of us throughout our stay. We really appreciate his kindness and support. Thank you! The hotel is also very close to Petra, which is a great advantage. We would definitely recommend staying here.

It is SUPER close to the Petra so you don't need to drive a car or walk a lot to get there. The view from the hotel was very nice and the conditon of the room was fine. I could take a shower with a warm water. All staffs at the hotel were nice and the breakfast quality was really good. (It costs 10 dinars) Everything was perfect !!

I was very kindly welcomed by Firas and his colleague. They recommended me stuff and they took plenty of their time to explain me Petra, Jordan and the culture. We had long discussions about anything! I have never ever had such a good hotel experience! And I stayed at 5 star hotels like Hyatt before! I highly recommend Sunset hotel, because of the exceptional staff!!

Leave one full day to make most of it.

Leave one full day to make most of it. Caution : The donkey /mule porters give false information about duration of walk upto certain key points , be mindful of that before committing with them. Keep some small loose cash with you in case you want to buy any local goods as plenty of small shops enroute.

Fantastic! Two days is an absolute minimum to visit Petra.

Fantastic! Two days is an absolute minimum to visit Petra. One half day or day walking tour should be negociated and agreed with one of the multiple private guide right after the entrance of Petra. You should ask to go to the upper cliffs, for a breathtaking tour off the beaten tracks, that joins with the main touristic areas at the end. To do this, you should be in proper physical condition. This is not "hard" but there are ups and downs and it can be very hot and sunny. Wear good shoes and bring water.

The town of Petra should be enjoyed over 2 to 3 days.I don't understand how most tourists make it as a day visit from Amman. The restaurant of Abu Elyas serves excellent and Authentic Jordanian food.It also boasts of Queen Rania being it's patron and has Queen's table at a Faux table of shutter 6.The rates of dishes is also reasonable... My husband and I went around Petra,Little Petra ,Petra by night ,As-shoubak castle close to Petra in a Taxi driven by One Mr Mohammed Fdoul (00962777530213),who quoted reasonable rates and seemed to be reliable...

If you are an adventures person then do follow the trail from the backside as suggested by local guide, but if you are not an adventures person then only do treasury and return back to visitor center. The whole trail is quite long and difficult for different age groups, but if you are at it then do bargain for donkey and mule rides

Great trip worth every step going in April means less crowds and pleasant weather Little Petra was amazing when entering from the back Please don't ride the Donkeys it was very upsetting seeing some owners especially the teenagers hitting them with chains! Horses were treated much better, if you are going to Petra then have the wonderful experience of walking!!! (Also for cat and dog lovers take some extra food to feed them at the ticket box in little Petra)

Place is very well maintained, you can see there are some works done to keep it this way. Sadly there are turists there who support child labour and animal cruelty, even though it's highlighted in the visitors centre not to do so. Horse rides are official part of the visitor centre, that area is controlled, horses can take turists just to the entrance of Siq Trail which is a short distance with no hills, stairs etc. Sadly at the last part of the trail you can see local children working with donkeys, you can't blame locals, but you can blame turists still using these "facilities".

Actually, I came to Jordan with the intention of visiting Petra, and I ended up staying at the Mosesresidence Hotel. The manager, Moataz, recommended Petra, and I also went to Wadi Rum. The hotel is located in the city center, close to shopping and restaurants. It was truly a wonderful experience. Thank you so much! Moataz, you are an amazing person. Thank you so much!

It's not a luxury hostel, but an affordable, well-located (5-minute walk) and clean hostel run by Mohammad and his family. So don't expect all the amenities of a hotel. Those who can manage that will be rewarded with great warmth, fantastic information and stories about Petra, Jordan, and the family who run the place. Breakfast is good and dinner is fantastic.

The hotel was beautiful. We have done an 8 day trip across Jordan and this was by far the best hotel. The rooms are clean, comfortable and luxurious with character, the breakfast and dinner was amazing and the staff were incredible. We had our 18 month year old daughter with us and the hotel and staff were fantastic for her. The hotel is really conveniently located to go and see Petra.

We had an amazing stay in Petra thanks to Otaiba and his family! They treated us so well that we extended our stay here. They will provide all the information you need for your visit of Petra (take at least the 2 days pass) and the best places of Wadi Musa (the town's name). There is a free parking next to the hotel entrance and Otaiba's cousins are the best official tour guides of Petra btw! Really it was our best experience in Jordan, by far!

We spent 3 nights here, one more than originally planned, because The hotel was just perfect and the best we booked during our Jordan adventure. Great location, 3 mins walk from the main access to Petra’s archeological site. Rooms are clean and furnished of everything you could need. The staff was great as well as breakfast and Buffet dinner. We would definitely recommend this place to people who want to stay in a cozy and comfortable hotel.

I was a bit confused by the different reviews but my experience was great. I’ve never stayed in the hotel where the bathroom was always clean! It was warm inside, the bed is very spacious, the owners are nice people and you can book a bus to Petra in the hostel.

We had an amazing stay at Sella Hotel in the heart of Petra-territory. The hotel had gorgeous luxury rooms with amazing views over the city and the canyons. The staff had excellent and genuine customer service but the absolutely best part was THE FOOD!!! So much fresh and authentic traditional Jordanian food that we couldn’t eat it all!

Petra is one of the most impressive World Heritage sites I have visited. Having been several times I still stand in awe as the Treasury is revealed at the end of the Siq. There is always something new to discover and you really feel a sense of achievement when you walk up to the Monastery!
