The location, size, and amenities of the property were great! The staff was amazing and anticipated our needs. They were very accommodating and kind. From the swimming pool area to the breakfast buffet, we were attended to very well. The location was right off of D’mall so it was so convenient for snacks and souvenir shopping. The hotel transportation to and from the Caticlan airport was smooth as well!

Hotel Lanterna is a small and quiet hotel with just 8 rooms, making it a good choice for those seeking a more peaceful and personal experience. The absence of mass tourism here is noticeable, and the staff takes the time to treat each guest individually, which I appreciated. The location is central, so everything you need is within walking distance, adding to the convenience of staying here. The rooms are bright and tastefully decorated. My room had a small kitchenette with basic utensils, which could be useful for some guests. The balcony on the second floor was practical for drying swimwear and enjoying a bit of fresh air. A standout feature is the hotel’s Italian restaurant, run by an Italian chef who also owns the hotel. It offers a relaxed atmosphere with authentic Italian dishes and is not overly crowded. Well-regarded among locals, the restaurant adds a charming touch to the hotel’s overall appeal. One practical advantage of this hotel is its own generator. In Boracay, power outages are quite common and can sometimes last for hours—or even the entire night.     People tend to go out to the beach area when the sun is at...

    People tend to go out to the beach area when the sun is at it's weakest, so you'll observe more people at 7-9 am and 4-6 pm swimming, sunbathing or simply walking along the beach. If you don't like crowds then avoid these times, however, these are the most convenient times to swim and be around the beach because the heat is not too hot. Just wear your sunscreens, hats and shades and you'll be fine. Unfortunately, when we went there last March 1-4, 2025, there were algae everywhere, we did expect it but it was a bit much. So if you wanna swim try going further to station 1, there were some areas with the least algae. Also, Puka Beach and Bulabog beach don't have algae, just a bit wavy and high in Puka and very windy same as in Bulabog Beach.

    West of the Island, the algae was in on the shoreline.

    West of the Island, the algae was in on the shoreline. However if you rent a motor or go all the way to the top of the island to Puka Shell Beach, highly recommended! Super clear water, peaceful. Loved Puka!
