United StatesThis property is exactly as described and shown in pictures only better. We loved every minute. The outdoor tub, the night sky with one night even having a slight aurora glow. The Highlander cows who posed for photos. The delicious breakfast that came with the room, the glass bedroom. We had the pleasure of meeting the owners’ mother who stopped to check to make sure we were not lost while out exploring. While the location is a bit remote, that was what we were looking for, and it is a short drive into the town of Twizel and the nearby lavender farm. The Peace Ring was temporarily closed but we could see it from the road. Highly recommend!

We ate in the main Lodge on two occasions with Luke, his wife Kaye and other guests which was very enjoyable. We attended a cooking demonstration with hufa which was excellent and was followed by a lovely lunch. Luke the owner was very prompt in coming to discuss all our concerns but couldn’t change anything, he offered the cooking demonstration and the opportunity to eat in the main lodge with him, which we accepted.Guest review byCatherineYoung couple

Room (given the rate) was more like a modern clean motel than a luxurious lodge. I fully appreciate what the owners are trying to do but it falls short on a global scale. Our hosts were very courteous. Dining again was pleasant but fell short of expectations. The food was above average but not excellent.
