From the moment we arrived, we felt welcomed and cared for by Mark and Marjerie, they are incredible hosts. Their warm hospitality made us feel right at home. The rooms were cozy and comfortable, providing the perfect retreat after a day of exploring. We even got to see girafs and antelopes while having our morning coffe in the back yard. But the real highlight was the food! They oragized a barii for us, and tought of every detail so that we could taste the most tradicional dishes in the área. Every meal was a delicious treat. We can't wait to return and experience this again!

The Silver Thorns Restaurant at the main lodge serves contemporary and culinary cuisine. Room service and special diet menus can be requested. Drinks and snacks can be enjoyed at the bar. The grounds were really beautiful with cottages surrounding artfully landscaped grounds that were filled with birdsong. The chef was truly excellent and we enjoyed our breakfasts and dinners. Our park ranger, Paul MacKenzie, was outstanding. He knew the wildlife really well and had many tales from his interesting life. Rafa, one of the elephants blessed us with his presence at the gate on the day of our game drive and were fortunate to spend a lot of time with one of the lions. The Park concession was very good because it gave us long views. In contrast, during our solo drive from the bottom of Addo to the top, there was large bush obscuring views. I found the staff at River Bend to be really friendly and enjoyed my many conversations with them, particularly time spent talking to Jenna. I also enjoyed talking to Gladys, who worked in the kitchen. She and I share an interest in sewing with Shweshwe. We highly recommend River Bend. It is truly a 5 star experience.

The lodge offers game drives through Addo National Park, game walks on the property and guided sundowner walks. Magical and most beautiful place in nature. The staff were amazing and food delicious. I'm certain I'm going back to stay at Camp Fig Tree again!

Ivy and the rest of the staff were incredibly friendly, always making us laugh and going out of their way to accommodate our requests, which truly elevated our experience. The rooms were spotless and well-maintained, with comfortable beds that ensured a great night’s sleep. Each room was equipped with air conditioning, making it perfect for relaxing after a day of activities. We especially loved the outside area, which offered stunning views of the beautiful garden and farm—a perfect spot to unwind. The breakfasts were well-organized and delicious, while the dinners were nothing short of divine. The campfire evenings and the refreshing swimming pool added a magical touch, making our stay unforgettable. If you're planning a visit to Addo, look no further than Chrislin. It's the perfect spot to enjoy a sunrise game drive in the morning, relax by the pool in the afternoon, and even embark on a memorable boat tour in Colchester. Highly recommended!

The Lodge is situated on a private game reserve, which boasts over 17 species of wild game animals, including a large family of giraffes. Safaris and day trips can be arranged.

Valley Bushveld Country Lodge serves authentic South African cuisine. During cold winter evenings, guests can enjoy a drink in the lounge with a huge fireplace. One of the best places we have stayed in, in Africa so far. Family run lodge, comfortable good sized rooms. Giraffe walk with the owner was amazing. Info to Addo Park helpful and easy doable for day trip. Food very good. Our stay was fantastic.

Incredibly peaceful being surrounded by nature and had a great time (despite the rain!). The staff were so friendly and accommodating and food was DELICIOUS! Great game drive in Addo, learnt so much and even saw lions. Hope to be back soon.
