We had the best couple of days spent here. The place is gorgeous, full of history. And the people there are absolutely lovely. The location is stunning, with wild Dartmoor ponies running around, spectacular aurora views from the room, and delicious food. We loved the trip. We are so glad that we chose this place for our special occasion.

Location was perfect for us, on a nice quiet street with good parking, just steps away from the University campus. Owner friendly, flexible and fast to address all of our requests. The property is an old traditional house, preserving a lot of features. Room very spacious and decorated in line with the period of the house and well kitted with everything, including a mini-fridge and a mobile heater. Good internet! Very big bathroom, fitted with both shower and bathtub and with a generous selection of lotions and bath soaks. The breakfast had a good variety of food, a cold-buffet type, with a range of teas and coffees. All self-serving, just make-your-own.

A wonderful, almost fairy-tale-like place with a unique atmosphere. The hosts' exceptional hospitality, offering fruit, basic food products, and a bottle of wine, was remarkable. It is worth highlighting the very high standard of cleanliness, which is rare even in exclusive hotels. I would gladly return there someday...

This is the best accommodation excepting multi starred hotels I have ever experienced. The village of Parracombe is just off the A39 and has hardly changed from before the arrival of the motor car. , This pub, restaurant, hotel is like an oasis after my walk from Woolacombe. The hosts are delightful, bar staff accommodating, restaurant superb and my room very spacious with a very modern en-suite bathroom and everything scrupulously clean. All boxes ticked for me. *****

I know some people find the mattresses too firm, but for me, it was perfect! very comfortable sleep. The hotel is generally very quiet at night (there was a woman having a very vocal fight/screaming competition for about an hour Saturday night, but it's not the hotel's fault that someone can't control their temper or their alcohol intake!). Just across from Exeter Central Station and about two minutes walk from the centre of Exeter itself, the location couldn't be better. Staff was absolutely lovely!

Staff very friendly and accommodating, our room was spacious and spotlessly clean. Usually pet friendly hotels very dated not kept well. Not this one, very modern. Exactly what we needed after 8 hour trip. Grand sleep.

There was a constant electrical humming all night in our room. (Room 1) We turned everything off but we think it was coming into the room. It was barely audible during normal hours but when hotel was quiet and we were trying to sleep it was very annoying!

Seems like this hotel works on summer seasons only. The rest of the year students live there. Just my guess. Apartments are exceptionally clean, fresh, all work. One of the best locations in the South West. Full English breakfast + fruits, yogurt, juice. Very reasonable price

Lovely homely apartment, well equipped and centrally located. Apartment was a lovely size and would cater for a family of 4 or 4 friends with 2 double bedrooms, the one being a king-size bed. Comfortable beds and pillows and quiet bedrooms. Lots of equipment in kitchen cupboards, and plenty of towels. Thoughful touches, milk in fridge, tea, coffee, sugar etc. Excellent accommodation, would recommend.

Nice 3 star hotel in a good central location in Exmouth. Booked for 2 nights, the room was comfortable and clean. Room facilities were in good condition. Bathroom clean and functional, shower bath. Room was quite and good nights sleep. No comments of food as we did not eat in the hotel. Car parking available at £6 day. Price was reasonable when compared with other hotels in the area. The location was not only near to Tavistock, but also well placed for walks in the beautiful and unspoilt Tamar valley. Although the apartment was next to a road and a pub, it was pleasingly fairly quiet, and was a good size for us as a couple. There was an adjoining farm shop that had some nice products, run by a lady who was not the owner of our accommodation.

Sharon and Daryl were lovely and happy to provide any advice we needed - from UEFA cup viewing locations to local walks. The breakfast was delicious - possibly the best we have ever come across in a holiday accommodation. Everything absolutely fresh and prepared to perfection - and we tried the range from kippers to porridge with berries.

Beautiful spacious comfortable room with stunning view of sea and outdoor terrace. Loved decor of hotel, the art, the colours, the carpets. New and clean and stylish. Superking bed so great night's sleep. Loved the deck and loungers round the pond so almost like a private beach for the hotel.

Absolutely filthy hotel. Old used and scratched furniture. Paper thin walls. Extremely old and bad plumbing with a screeching shower valve ALL night. Floor made your feet black. Windows so dirty you can barely see out of them. Bed was old you could feel All the springs. It was so bad we had to cancel the rest of our holiday and drive home to sleep.

We expected a cosy accommodation in city B&B (pub),....and found so much more. A great place with very attentive and friendly staff. The room was very nice and stylish and the bed super comfy. Also worth mentioning is the bathroom which was rather spacious. Twice we had dinner at the hotel (ie. at the pub) and it truly was a fantastic and delicious experience. We can absolutely recommend this hotel and would stay there again should we come back to Tavistock.

We were traveling from New Zealand and loved everything about this accommodation. Admittedly we had a room upgrade, but the whole experience was exceptional. We ate dinner and breakfast there and could not fault it. The staff were friendly and helpful. We loved the old character of the hotel and have already recommended it to friends for when they travel to the UK.
