I could not have asked for a better weekend than the one I had at the Aviva Hotel. Nelson, Adam, and the rest of the team made me feel welcomed, well-fed, and safe the entire time. They were able to help coordinate essentially all of my travel in Guatemala, between private shuttles to and from the lake as well as early morning boat rides, which was a major plus with what had been a last-minute trip. The view of the lake is spectacular and I would highly recommend the double room if it is available. The hotel is brand new and very modern, which offers a nice contrast to the surrounding nature. The rooms are well-insulated and do a good job keeping the bugs out - along with having nice amenities. Mine even had a fireplace which was a nice touch to a rainy evening one night. On top of everything, I would be remiss not to mention the pool or the breakfast, which were huge selling points to me as well. I highly, highly recommend the Aviva Hotel - made such a difference for my trip and well worth it!

This property is magical! The staff is excellent and went above and beyond to make us happy. It’s also a great place to take kids. You can see an active volcano from the gardens at night.

The room had no curtains when we arrived and although they are oartially darkened you can see inside at night. They pur them up when we asked. The unit is anything but luxurious, but considering others in the area it is better. Location is excellent with great view if the lake. Bed is comfy. Shower is not good. It is hand held and needs uodating as does mist if the unit. Decent pool and hot tub. Overall ok for the area.
