Hotel Peneleu is a 2-star property located in San Pedro La Laguna. Among the facilities at this property are a 24-hour front desk and a shared kitchen, along with free WiFi throughout the property. The lady that welcomed us was really nice, we had to choose our room so if you have that opportunity I recommend taking the one on the upper level, it was something exceptional. We loved the view with the hamac to rest and the access to the roof to watch the sunrise, absolutely something to do! It's 10 minutes walk from the main -tourist- street, but I recommend you to take a tuk-tuk when you first arrive cause it's not the exact location on maps :)

Hotel Tinamit has a garden and a terrace in San Pedro La Laguna. With free WiFi, this 3-star hotel offers a 24-hour front desk and room service. This hotel is lovely! The cheapest we have stayed in on our travels but also the cleanest! Each room has a view over looking the lake (Unless you are on the ground floor). Each room has a balcony with a hammock. The view from the balcony is what made this place for me. Beautiful view over looking the Indian nose and water. The rooms have double beds with three different types of blanket as the rooms are cooler (which is lovely after a day in the sun). The rooms have fans as well but we didn't need. Bedrooms have a private bathroom with a shower. We had hot water every day and lots of toilet paper which was a first on our travels. The cleans and bathroom were so clean and fresh. The hotel has house keeping and they work hard all day cleaning the rooms and the balcony. Staff are lovely. We spoke to a few ladies even (in our poor spanish) and they were very helpful and friendly. On the roof there is a hammock and chairs to sit which is where we spent the evenings under the stars. The price was really low. So to have such a clean hotel with private bathroom, view and hot water was amazing. We would book again (and we did book for another 2 nights when here).

San Pedro is full of night life and back packers. It is very safe and it is easy to access most other parts of Lake Atitlan. Be prepared with cash as many places do not accept credit cards, and if they do they add a large fee. My only major criticism is it is so touristy that they do not have much local Guatemalan food!! The food is not great in the city.
A cute little village located at the foot of San Pedro Volcano on the shores of stunningly beautiful Lake Atitlan. The village seemed thriving with little shops and restaurants. A friend showed me beautiful off the beaten path hiking trails with gorgeous views. I enjoyed swimming from the cleaner beaches.
San Pedro is pretty much little Israel. There's more Hebrew than English even! That's fine, but I wanted a more local experience. I would recommend staying at Santa Cruz for a more chill experience and make day trips from there. I HIGHLY recommend San Juan for a day trip, especially if you like art. Its such a beautiful and vibrant town. Maybe I would stay there if I had a reason (weaving course, etc.). Food is a bit more pricey at San Pedro. Going out is pretty good here as well if you are interested in that. Just be prepared for a lot of dudes.
San Pedro is loud and has a vibrant night life. I'm a quiet person, so it wasn't my scene. There is plenty to do, if you know where to look. It also has easy access to San Juan, my favorite town around the lake. There's a lot of vegetarian options, which I really appreciated as a vegetarian. The best coffee I had was at this hole in the wall place, I don't know the name, but it's right next to Johanna's on the main road by the water. I recommend trying out Mayan Kitchen, as the woman who runs it is an amazing human! Definitely not for people who like a quiet place, but still fun.
Plenty of places to eat, spanish school, and hand made leather goods and clothing. Local coffee and chocolate. Easy to get boats to other towns. Many tour and shuttle options. My absolute favorite was the sunrise hike to Indian Nose. I also loved visiting San Juan which you can get to by tuc tuc, boat, or you can kayak there. As a solo traveler that's not into partying, I think next time I would prefer to stay in a town on the lake that has a quieter feel and better view of the volcanoes nearby.
We enjoyed San Pedro La Laguna, and Lake Atitlan. There are plenty of things to see and do there. The Lake is absolutely beautiful, surrounded by mountains, including Volcan San Pedro, The rich cultural heritage of the local people is on display everywhere in their handicrafts, delicious foods, abundant fruits and vegetables, local lore and traditions. I would highly recommend you hire a local guide and his tuk tuk to see it all. Other nearby villages like San Juan,, San Pablo, San Marcos, and Santiago are easily accessible by water Taxi. If you are looking for an extraordinary holiday this place has something for everyone.
My spouse and I spent 9 days at the hotel. The receptionists are always encline to guide us, help organize activities in the area. The whole hotel is cleaned top to bottom every day, our room cleaned only when we needed. There’s a little kitchen where we can cook our own meals, or a restaurant on the third floor with a lot of options. We are used to have hot water in North America so the hot water tank system of the locals make us take a cold shower 😅.
San Pedro La Laguna
This was my second time here. The hotel is conveniently located within a short distance to the ferry dock and to many restaurants and the town centre. It is set in a well maintained garden where a small, well equipped kitchen is available. My double ensuite room was spacious and clean albeit basic but it was good value. The staff are lovely and helpful. Would return.
Miguel and his son were both so nice and helpful. This place has the cleanliness ad privacy of a hotel room but the welcoming faces of staying with a family. Also the views on the terrace, from my room, and on the roof were great. As others mentioned they even offered laundry services, though I didn't end up taking them up on that, but that is a great offer.
This is a basic hotel that has a million dollar view. For the very low price, it was a great choice. Nice staff. If you just want a clean room not a very economical price, this is fantastic choice. The location is perfect. Be sure to get up and see the sunrise over the water.
Beautiful and quiet place to stay outside the main core of San Pedro. The place also contains a lot of plants and bushes which makes it cosy. One gets a really good breakfast every day (vegetarian). The place is a family run hotel / hostel which contains 6 rooms.
San Pedro La Laguna
The bed were very comfortable with quilts if you are cold. Everything is very clean, the location is very good and quite. Neff is a really nice person and always helpful. This is probably the best place we ever been in Guatemala. Thank you for everything Neff.
The hotel and amenities are really nice, large bedroom, nicely decorated with view of the pool and the lake. The breakfast is delicious, large buffet selection. Only a 5 min walk from the pier. We were offered a glass of prosecco at check-in.
San Pedro La Laguna
They were amazing hosts! The place was so clean and beautiful, directly on the lake!! I'd stay here again anytime. He brought us extra towels and whatever we needed. Quick response as well. Thank u atitlan!
San Pedro La Laguna
The view from our (private) room on the 4th floor was amazing. We could overlook a large part of Lake Atitlan. The staff was also super kind and attentive to its clients. Our room was super clean.
San Pedro La Laguna
Enjoyed my stay at Zoola. It's a little off the main road in San Pedro, so further away from all the morning tuk tuk noise. The delicious isreali food at the restaurant was the best part!
San Pedro La Laguna
Beautiful property, hotel only took quetzals at that time, so make sure to have cash! There is only ATMs in San Pedro. Everything is walking distance :)
Near to the center of life in the village. Big room. Friendly people. Near the port for the boats to Atitlan villages
