Sigiriya Kings Resort was the hidden gem during our stay in Sri Lanka. It is a place surrounded by nature and very quiet. There is a big pond that is right next to the lodge where you can see frogs and many many birds. The rooms are high standard, good and silent air conditioning, good shower with amenities, bathrobe, and a flash light. The people were extremely friendly and attentive. I could only touch a sun umbrella and within seconds somebody was there to help me. The continental breakfast was superb and we enjoyed it every day. Fresh juice, smoothie, yoghurt, eggs/bacon/beans, fruits, and sweets. We usually don’t eat dinner at the restaurant of the hotel but ended eating at this place every evening. The meals were so delicious and worth the price. Recommendation: Tom Yum soup and everything on the SKR specials page! They have multiple trips that they offer and arrange for you. We booked the safari in Hurulu. They knew exactly where the elephants were these days and we saw around 40 of them also very close up. Big thanks to our guide Samantha for the awesome experience🎉 And not to forget the lovely view to Lions Rock and Pidurangala. We took one of their bikes to make a nice 1.5h ride to the base of the Lions Rock and city center. It’s a cool way to discover the surroundings. We enjoyed everything and want to say big thanks to the owner and staff for taking such good care and making our stay unforgettable. ❤️

The food, the view and family made this the best homestay of the trip. While the rooms are quite simple (currently only 3 rooms, but they’re building another structure with 16 rooms if I understood correctly) the hospitality of the family was so lovely. A true Sri Lankan spread each breakfast, we also had lunch and dinner there (and regretted eating in town one night) which was delicious and fantastic. As the person who likes spicy food, they even prepared a soy curry just for me! Heavenly. I wanted to do a sunrise hike to Pidurangala Rock and a tuktuk was arranged for me. I got a wake up text and was greeted with a hot cup of coffee at 5am. They gave us some postcards to send home, and shared a song and dance party with us on our final night.

The rooms are completely renovated. The dinner was absolutely delicious - we don't regret one bit for not going out for dinner to the city for our 1 night stay. Looks like they plan to do even more renovations outside. Surely recommended!

It’s a property with a soul, with decoration linked to some Sri Lanka famous movies. Rooms are great and all have a nice view to the big garden, pool and lake at the end. The restaurant is perfect, the hygiene is top, the quality of the food is great. People are super friendly. There is a great spa too with variety of massages. Ideal place to just stay and relax and/or visit some great places around. Very well decorated. A place where we will return.
