The decor in the hotel is books everywhere, it certainly lives up the name literary hotel. It is a very relaxing place with very friendly staff. As a gluten free person I was very looked after, the chef cooked from scratch my meal to ensure there was no cross contamination when we eat in the restaurant. And I was presented home made breads and treats for breakfast.

We were not allowed to drive our car inside the walls but the suggested parking was a 4 minute walk from the hotel.

Excellent breakfast and opportunity to chat with other guests. Our room was big and the bed was comfortable. The location was hard to beat, basically at the top of the main street and close to restaurants. The house itself is superbly decorated with a wide variety of rooms available for guests including a billiards room.
