Kusatsu Onsen Eidaya is located in Kusatsu. The property is a 10-minute walk from Kusatsu Yubatake and Kusatsu-Onsen Bus Terminal. It is a Japanese style inn with retro vibes. Their private onsen's water comes from the very hot spring source of Kusatsu and therefore you can experience the hot spring water without going to the public baths if you are shy. We mostly used them at night when the town's baths are closed since the inn's are 24/7 open. I would recommend to book a japanese style room as it has it's tatami and according decoration and together with the inn's yukata (there is an opt for a colorful one and geta to rent) it gives a more japanese experience. We liked that the inn had slippers for going outside which was convenient as the whole town is full with onsens (even ones that are only for feet) and therefore is more convenient to move in slippers. They have a game area with a lot of retro game (even arcade games) and Nintendo SFC System Video Game Console in the rooms. It may not be in the centre of the town (around 10 min walk for either yubatake or Sainokawara Park and open onsen) but is very close to it and also they offer pick up/drop off from the bus terminal. Staff were very friendly and helped with everything we needed. In our next visit to Kusatsu we are definitely staying there!

Boasting hot spring baths in a spectacular outdoor setting by Takaragawa River, Japanese-style hotel Takaragawa Onsen Osenkaku is a 10-minute drive from Hodaigi Ski Resort. My husband and I will never forget this beautiful onsen! After arriving late at night after a long day of travelling we were pleasantly surprised to find that Hiroshi (the lovely host!) had arrived a full traditional meal for two of us. The food was delicious throughout our entire stay! As for the outside onsen baths, they were an amazing experience and we felt so relaxed there, taking in all of the stunning scenery around us. The staff were amazing and so welcoming. Hiroshi in particular was such a lovely host. I would recommend anyone who wants to experience something special to stay at Takaragawa. We loved every minute and hope to return again some time.

BUNA KUSATSU Onsen Inn er nýlega enduruppgerður gististaður í Kusatsu, 47 km frá Jigokudani-apagarðinum. Boðið er upp á loftkæld herbergi með ókeypis WiFi og einkabílastæði. The room was bright and clean, and the private onsen was amazing. There is a kitchen and a shared space where you can experience a traditional Japanese kotatsu. Everything was great except that the property is located on a hill, so you have to climb to reach nearby places. The road was very slippery on snowy days, and we almost slipped several times. I would not recommend this place for travelers with elderly people or young children.

Minakami Onsen Aratashi Minakami er staðsett í Minakami, 33 km frá Gala Yuzawa-skíðadvalarstaðnum og býður upp á gistirými með verönd, ókeypis einkabílastæði og veitingastað. Hotel staff is friendly and really made us feel at home with their personalised service. We love the Kaiseki dinner, their sets breakfast, and their rooms are equipped with private onsen and it is Modernised and exceptionally clean. Their public onsen is spacious, clean and fully equipped.

Oyado Yukizumi er staðsett í Kusatsu á Gunma-svæðinu og býður upp á gistirými með ókeypis WiFi og ókeypis einkabílastæði ásamt aðgangi að heitu hverabaði. I loved the hot bath that was provided. The space was intimate and perfect for one/two people. The heater option was great after a long day in the cold.

Kusatsu Hotel Bekkan Wata no Yu (Adult Only) er staðsett í Kusatsu, 45 km frá Jigokudani-apagarðinum og 14 km frá Mt. Shirane. All of the staff was incredibly nice and accommodating

Chigira Jinsentei er staðsett í aðeins 46 km fjarlægð frá Usui Pass Railway Heritage Park og býður upp á gistingu í Shibukawa með aðgangi að baði undir berum himni, garði og lyftu. This Ryokan is phenomenal. - Breakfast and dinner, exceptional. Probably the greatest thing we like about the Ryokan. - The room, it was amazing, clean and tidy - We only used the private onsen (which is first come first serve basis, no booking required), temperature is just right with great view once you opened the window.

Minakamisansou er staðsett í Minakami, aðeins 36 km frá Gala Yuzawa-skíðadvalarstaðnum og býður upp á gistirými með aðgangi að baði undir berum himni, sameiginlegri setustofu og lyftu. Absolutely beautiful ryokan with stunning views of the river. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was clean, simple, and comfortable, and our private onsen was a highlight! The multi-course dinner and breakfast service were absolutely fantastic as well. We took advantage of the free shuttle service to and from Minakami Station, which was also easy to navigate. This was the perfect quiet and relaxing escape during our honeymoon!

Soumeian er staðsett í Kusatsu á Gunma-svæðinu og býður upp á gistirými með ókeypis WiFi og ókeypis einkabílastæði ásamt aðgangi að heitu hverabaði. The rooms are very beautiful, clean and well prepared. One of best stay in Kusatsu. The breakfast is a homemade dish that is prepared carefully and beautifully. We are having a great time staying in Soumeian.

Sekizenkan Kashotei Sanso er 4 stjörnu gististaður í Nakanojo, 36 km frá Ishidan-gai-tröppunum. Boðið er upp á bað undir berum himni. Gistirýmið er með loftkælingu og er 49 km frá Naeba-skíðasvæðinu. Beautiful building in gorgeous surroundings. Fabulous baths and all in all a serene experience, especially during the week when there are less people. Luxurious enough but not over the top.
