The place is beautiful, clean, and comfortable—perfect for groups, with a BBQ area available. The bathroom is lovely, and the location shouldn’t be a problem if you rent a car or arrange transfers. The TV offers a wide variety of movies to enjoy. The dining area is right next to the house, which is very convenient. The cook and the host are both kind and take great care of guests. The breakfast is simple but delicious and very fitting.

The friendly host offers to drive you around to all places around for a very reasonable price. Furthermore, his son speaks English very well and gives you a lot of help and advice over the phone, he is very responsive. Thanks to the advice of the host's son and the willingness of the host to drive me to different places, I could so so many things in my 2 day stay!! Thank you so much! If you want to see multiple sections of the wall, get local advice and help to make your trip the best experience possible etc, book your stay here! If you just want to go to the spa and spend time in Gubei Water Town, it might make more sense to book a hotel in Gubei Water Town. I would choose to book a stay in the Jumanyuan house anytime again though!

The environment is very welcoming and cozy. the staff are warm and friendly, happy to help with any questions you might have. They even picked us up late in the evening from Gubei and drove us back the following day. It is a short hike to a beautiful section of the Great Wall, very few people on the wall and lots of wild sections. The staff helped us plan our route the night before. When we returned we had a nice lunch in the lobby.

It was a great stay - room is tydy and comfy with good taste and well thought details. Big capacity water heater ensures a good hot shower, good quality shampoo and shower cream are provided, along with other essential utensils: tooth brushes and paste, shower slippers and room slippers, towels, intelligent toilet etc. Good equality beddings guarantee a good night of sleep. The owner couple are friendly and caring. Transportation can be arranged if you wan to visit JinShanLing greatwall. Last but not the least, the food is homy and yummy. Overall it was a pleasant stay and we will come back.

A great place to stay to visit the great wall and experience a peaceful Chinese village. The entrance to the great wall is just a short walk. This section of the great wall is so quiet that we have the whole place to ourselves. It is also not very restored so you get to see some of the original wall. They also cooked fresh food from their garden for us. I have been to Beijing twice and did all the major tourist spots. I have to say staying here and hiking the wall in peace is my best Beijing experience.
