The host can take you to Gubei Water Town in the morning and take you back in the evening. Their son can coordinate you. It's perfect for those who are on budget, and don't quite speak Chinese. You can come to Gubeikou Train station and the host can pick you up. Also, he can take you back to Gubeikou Train station on your departure day. The location was good, very close to the great wall (they pick you up at the Gubei bus stop station, so very convenient). They also offered home made meals: only vegeratian food options, but delicious (we had both lunch and dinner there). The staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our stay there.
