Wonderful place, stayed an extra night beyond plan. Very friendly staff with good English. I loved the 'funco' room, so unique and a really nice bathroom and also really like the table and chairs outside. The whole property is very nicely decorated. I had a chicken dinner there two of the three nights (1,000 CVE) and was happy with what was provided. I didn't climb the volcano but they offered to get me a guide if needed for 6,000 CVE (my knees couldn't handle the climb otherwise I would have). Breakfast was very satisfying and loved how they give you a Thermos of good coffee and not just one cup.

The hospitality of Rose, he was very kind and did an amazing job taking care of each detail during my stay. Also, he was able to provide a lot of info about Chã das Caldeiras and how to explore, trails available, and so on. And the breakfast and dinner was great!

The whole village was buried by lava in 1991. The village collectively decided to rebuild. Thus the location, next to Pico do Fogo, is otherworldly. Like Mars. So, that is the setting. We met Mountain Guide Mustafa, one of the proprietors. Coolest dude ever. He has heck of a life story to tell. Casa Marisa is rustic and Perfect considering the wild location. It is not easy to build on hardened lava. I absolutely recommend staying at Casa Marisa. Awesome Place! And try climbing Pico do Fogo, or the other easier hikes. Or the myriad other activities offered.

First of all the host, Laetitia, who went far beyond any expectation in terms of her warmth of character, goodwill and helpfulness, and her enthusiasm for a setting she obviously loves. We had a wonderful experience, both with our stay at her very comfortable property and with all other aspects of our visit. The hiking from here was marvelous!

Size the first minute when we had met Socorro at the airport, he gave us a lovely welcoming( He Went to pick up us at the airport( He’s a collective and private car driver) Lovely guy. Hey, show us all hotspots points for nice photos Before her accommodation, so he’s the owner. I lovely Family, beautiful kids and kind wife. She taught us how to cook cachupa - the most popular traditional caboverdean food, it’s was so delicious( we suggest you to try it) their accommodation it’s a kinda of - be with family to learn and share, we do liked all meal.it’s peaceful place, in the center, view to the vulcano, forest and lot of small vulcano and surrounded by lof of restaurants. Also we had tasted their own traditional wine named Manecon( dry and sweet) sweet was like dry for us 😂, so dry was to strong, bu Socorro has some others wine from the wine company. They have an open explanada where you can: have a drink, have meal, take nap, tan, read, or play with kids. Our room was clean and fresh , everything 100% very good. At the night time we went to casa Ramiro for live music - it was so so cool . Djony was one of our favorite player, he do plays more than 4 musical instruments. We would like to return at their place as soon possible. Don’t worry about how to get out the airport to the Chã Das Caldeiras- He has a car and can go for pick up and drop off. We do recommend.

Villages on the lava field in caldera is incredible. Jose is super host. He organize pick up, cooking, tours around island. They brothers are very good gidės to climb to volcano. My big thanks to Felix. I would reccomend to stay there min. 2 nights.
