The guesthouse had traditional Japanese construction and was spacious and well equipped. The hostess left treats in the dining room and refrigerator and is an angel the way she anticipates guests needs. Thoughtful and kind as a hostess,, I lived a very comfortable five days and wish to return later this year. There is much to see and do in Kagoshima and southern Kyushu, more than the couple days some guide ooks suggest.
