This place is simply amazing! It has so much character and soul – if you’re a true beach lover like me, you’ll instantly fall in love. I loved it so much that I even added this marvelous apartment on Google Maps as a Local Guide (Level 8) with my own drone shots – so now everyone can see how stunning it really is when searching for the place. That’s how special it felt! We were so impressed that we extended our stay by an extra night (happily paying more than asked) because our incredible host Sujee truly deserves it. The location is perfect – right by the ocean, yet so close to the main road. From the terrace you can watch breathtaking sunsets, the waves crashing on the rocks, and the colourful fishing boats sailing in and out of Kottagoda Harbour. The drone view is just spectacular – a mix of ocean, lush greenery, and the charm of a working harbour village. Another big plus: this small, solar-powered villa has the fastest fibre internet I’ve ever experienced in Sri Lanka – true FTTH speeds! The WiFi (2.4 GHz) easily gave us 100/100 Mbps up and down everywhere in the villa, and via LAN it can go even higher. For anyone who works remotely or just loves smooth streaming, this is a dream. What made our stay even more special were the personal touches: a refreshing dip in the plunge pool, colourful terrace lights that set the mood for evenings, delicious food ordered from nearby Dilaro Taste (delivered to the door by Sujee’s friend!), and the unforgettable bonfire that Sujee prepared for us right on the beach. This is not just a villa – it’s an experience. Peaceful mornings, magical sunsets, nights under the stars with a fire by the sea… I’ll definitely be back next year for several nights. Best place I’ve stayed in Sri Lanka, here traveling for six months. I stayed in the A/C room and it was quiet, peaceful, beautiful, clean, with everything I could need! Tucked into Lala’s beautiful garden off the side of the road, the location is very convenient for traveling around the coast but also so sheltered and cozy you feel like you’ve stepped into another world. Very close to the beach, just a short walk away. Lala and family are just wonderful, so kind, warm, and open. I thoroughly enjoyed getting to spend time with them and hope to come back to visit! It also felt like such a treat to enjoy Lala’s wonderful cooking outside on the verandah surrounded by her lovely garden. Fantastic food, I highly recommend having dinner with them as well as breakfast! Her daal is 😍 She also made me fresh butterfly pea flower tea every day with blooms from the garden, soo nice!! Highly recommend this lovely place to everyone lucky enough to be in the area 😊

We highly recommend Talalla Leisure. Great location with exceptionally helpful staff. Anne and Manju made sure our group was well taken care of. The property is very well maintained and clean. Talalla beach is a very large and beautiful beach with very few people, and amazing views and warm water. It can be reached after a short walk through the property. There is a large variety of options on the menu with traditional Sri Lankan food and more.

Very spacious rooms and clean and comfy.

The infinity pool (clean and big enough) is definitely the plus of Tallala. Also, the whole set up (like a Greek island) is really different to all hotels in Sri Lanka. Having like a sort of mini apartment with two rooms makes it easier when traveling with another couple. The rooms are spacious and clean and the views from the windows/balcony are stunning. We had some diner too from their menu and it was good/fairly priced. The team does all in their power to make our stay enjoyable.

We stayed at two places on Talalla beach and this was our favorite. We stayed in room #3, which did not have a beach view balcony. However, only three rooms were being rented. The other two had private balconies, and there was a third balcony overlooking the ocean in between those two. In effect, we had that third balcony all to ourselves. The room itself was pleasant. A little bit of noise during evening traffic hours, but was rather quiet when sleeping. Everything was comfortable and modern. The dining area is incredible. Fantastic views. For breakfast, they provided Sri Lankan food instead of toast and eggs (we requested this and they happily obliged). They also had a refrigerator, stovetop burner, and some basic cookware. We didn't think we'd use this initially, but all the restaurants on Talalla seemed to be overpriced with small portions. We ended up taking the 5 to 10 minute walk to the grocery store, buying some basics, and cooking our own lunch and dinner. We also would go every few days into the nearby Matara to stock up on tropical fruits. Our favorite part was of course that the property was right on the beach. The outdoor garden area also had several comfortable lounge spots, where we spent hours relaxing and gazing into the ocean. The owner grew up on this piece of land, long before it was a tourist destination. By staying here, you are literally supporting a local couple with deep ties to land, as opposed to someone who came in and built a big hotel. They were very friendly and helpful, while also offering lots of privacy and space. Also, the owner offered to drive us around to different tourist destinations in his car at a price that either matched or was lower than what we could get from the Pick Me app. Some of the other hotels on the beach really tried to gouge you on the price. It was refreshing to be treated fairly and kindly. Overall, incredible value and also just a really nice peaceful vacation spot.

It’s clean, peaceful and has an incredible staff. Drinking water, tea/coffee and frukt availible for free. Breakfast with a lot of fresh fruit, omelett,/eggs and bread + tea/coffee. You can borrow body boards. Thómas and his staff takes extra ordinary care of every guest!. A great place to stay if you enjoy a guide and peaceful environment. Turtle hatching on the beach in the night time.

Beautiful location on the beach. Individual bamboo huts and air con rooms . Tried both and each has its benefits. Huts are quite open and attract jungle visitors as expected but all part of the experience, just be sure to take precautions against mosi’s. Beds were very comfortable and both huts and rooms have a comfy outdoor seating area. Food was good (buffet style) but maybe an occasional BBQ would have added some variety. Staff are very attentive and reception staff were helpful. Easy to get a Tuk-Tuk just outside the main gate. A few restaurants within walking distance. Sun beds were a bit short on a couple of days. There is an overall chilled vibe which is extremely relaxing. Would recommend.

Wonderful location with a beautiful view from the top. Delicious food and so helpful and friendly staff. We travelled with 4 children including an infant and it was one of the best places we have stayed.

We loved this place only stayed a night should have been a week. Gaby is a great host and her hotel is exceptional. The grounds and pool are awesome The rooms big and comfortable and clean with mini bar available for an afternoon beer on the balcony The breakfast by the pool was a real treat It is a short walk to a great beach with a little cafe that serves great food. Book this place you won’t be disappointed

The place itself is super spacious, spotlessly clean, and has such a cozy, relaxed vibe. We had the best time here. The host was so warm and welcoming. The favourite part was the huge garden, perfect for lounging around with a cup of tea or just enjoying the peaceful surroundings. Access was really easy too, with clear directions and prompt replies. Do not skip the homemade Sri Lankan breakfast there. That was delicious and so much flavour.
