We've never had a better host than Jennifer! She deserves 10 out of 10 stars - amazingly thorough communication, quick responses, accurate information, super friendly & helpful. She knows everyone in Bocas and helped us set up everything from a private boat tour to a birthday cake. It's worth booking here just for her knowledge! Location - in Playa Bluff, a 25 min taxi which costs between $15-$20 each way depending on the time of day. You can also take a colectivo for $3.50/person until about 6pm when it stops running. We loved the more remote location but it's a long bumpy road which may not work for everyone. There are a couple of restaurants within super easy walking distance and a gorgeous beach with big waves. Howler monkeys were in the trees out front along with lots of gorgeous Oropendula birds, agoutis, etc. The house has a fantastic front porch/dining area where we hung out during rain showers. We didn't cook, so can't speak to kitchen amenities but there's an Italian coffeemaker and a fridge.

Host went out of his way to accommodate and make us comfortable. Location was off the beaten path so transportation was a bit of a chore without a car.

Toucan Hill is a hidden jungle paradise, but what truly makes it special is David. From the moment we arrived, he made us feel at home with his kindness, warmth, and attention to detail. The cabins are brand new, spotless, and thoughtfully equipped—sharp knives, quality cookware, a coffee machine, and even reusable water bottles to help reduce waste. The bed is incredibly comfortable, and the outdoor living space is perfect for relaxing. We loved being surrounded by nature—waking up to the sounds of monkeys, spotting sloths in the trees, and seeing toucans and flying toads right outside our window. The beach is stunning, and David even provided beach mats and bags to make our days by the ocean even better. He went above and beyond, offering to bring us groceries from town and sharing great conversations over a beer, making us feel like old friends.

it was beautiful and the service was excellent. delicious food and surrounded by nature. a jewel of bocas del toro. the beach club they have in bluff beach was great. the hotel is a high end surfers paradise, but even if you don’t surf (like us) the hotel has many amazing yoga classes, meditations and included spa services that you can enjoy as well as a bunch of treatments that we didn’t try but looked amazing. the rooms are beautiful, super clean and they have a balcony that looks into the jungle that is very special. I genuinely loved my experience, wish I could’ve stayed longer!can’t recommend this enough

Amazing pool, Miriam the host was wonderful. Very accommodating and kind. Helped us plan what to do for the day, phoned tours for us and got us taxis. Top notch. Our kids 7, 11 loved it as well. We heard howler monkeys in the morning and took a swim in the pool at night. I would come here again and recommend to my friends and family.

The house is very well-built. The owner is very helpful, very pleasant, and we love the howler monkeys in the evening.

Perfect place to disconnect and enjoy nature

This place is so idyllic. True island character. Simple yet quality. A sense of style in many touches.Best beds! And sheets were cotton! Or at least 50%. Beautifully situated on the shore. Staff so friendly and warm and helpful. Enjoyed the tranquility, remote feeling, and the walk to Playa Estrella.

Perfect centralized location. Host very friendly and attentive. Well equipped with dishes, comfortable beds and comfortable living room. Great view of pasture.

Everything is absolutely amazing about this place. The food, the location, the comfort, the workers, the owner are all incredible. It’s really close to town ($2-3 taxi) so don’t worry about that but also far enough to get away from the crazy party atmosphere of town. They have daily/nightly activities to get people involved. Scooter/atv rental on site. Suggestions for activities in the area. I stayed in both the dorm and private room and have no complaints about either…I am not kidding when I say this place is perfect!

Everything ! Location was great to everything else in town. It was right by the ocean. The restaurant was great. The staff was super amazing and always smiling and looking to help even if we weren't paying customers at the restaurant, They had free beverages. They stocked by beer in their fridge. They allowed us to store our luggage for half a day after we had already checked out of the hotel. Just exceeded expectations whole heartedly. I have never seen any hotel do that for me !
