During my stay at this extraordinary hotel by the Douro River in Portugal, I was thoroughly impressed. The experience was nothing short of fantastic. The hotel's ambiance and amenities exceeded my expectations, and the restaurant, offering fine dining, was a culinary delight. Every meal was an exquisite experience for the taste buds. What truly made this stay exceptional was the staff—extremely pleasant and accommodating, going out of their way to ensure a memorable visit. Moreover, the breathtaking view of the Douro River from my window was simply spectacular. It added an unforgettable touch to my time at the hotel. We loved the reception by Mrs Julia, who was very kind and friendly. She gave us tips on restaurants nearby. We also enjoyed the wineyard at the bottom of the hotel and that we were allowed to walk around at any time. The place is very calm and quiet, perfect for a escape from the city hustle and bustle. Mr Jose was also of extreme kindness setting us up with a lovely boat tour through Douro on my bday. We had just asked where we could arrange for the tour and he went all the way calling the person and helping us organize. Breakfast was delicious and all the staff was really attentive. We highly recommend a stay with them!

A beautiful place to stay on the Douro river. It has a great restaurant in the hotel, highly recommended. The staff were all wonderful and accommodating and the breakfast each morning was great.

Loved everything about the property. Located 30 minutes from Porto, Casa Valxisto is nestled within a small vineyard. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable. Our suite was spacious with beautiful views and the bed was comfortable. The on-site restaurant served daily breakfast and dinner which were both delicious. Again, Ana, Susana and the rest of the staff provided awesome service. We highly recommend Casa Valxisto for any special occasion or just a nice getaway.
