Kusatsu Onsen Eidaya is located in Kusatsu. The property is a 10-minute walk from Kusatsu Yubatake and Kusatsu-Onsen Bus Terminal. Guests can find a private hot spring bath and Japanese restaurant on site. Although we only stayed one night, we had a marvelous stay at Kusatsu Onsen Eidaya! The personnel is very welcoming and helpful (their English is perfect), the rooms are big and very clean, and the four Ryokan onsens are great. I also recommend the dinner and Japanese breakfast which were perfect. Bonus: if you are into retro gaming the rooms and lobby have mini-NES and Megadrive.

Must try! Better than anyone I tried before in Japan!

Staff very helpful when we needed extra help to contact local onsen, they were so kind and called ahead for us so we could keep our booking on very short notice.

Boasting garden views, Ryutakuzenji 宿坊 offers accommodation with balcony, around 28 km from Usui Pass Railway Heritage Park. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. The ryokan has family rooms and facilities for disabled guests. We were travelling by train so it was very convenient for Tendou-san, the monk, to pick us up from the Takasaki train station for a reasonable additional charge. Tendou-san knew enough English to converse with us on the 30-minute drive to the hotel. The hotel is small and charming, next to the beautiful samurai temple and garden with a koi pond. The deluxe quadruple room was very large for just two people. The kotatsu table was a nice place to relax and be warm. The futons were very comfortable for sleeping. Like other reviews mention, some of the walls don't extend all the way up to the vaulted ceiling/roof, so there is potential for noise to pass in and out of rooms. However, we were the only ones there that night (others were dissuaded by snow forecast) so we had the whole place to ourselves. We had dinner and breakfast; both were delicious with large portions. We participated in the morning meditation. Tendou-san explained some history of the temple, initiated our meditation, and then left us to finish we felt ready to be done. It was a very nice experience that I would recommend to anyone!

The room was cozy, and the onsen was wonderfully relaxing. One day, there was heavy snow, and we didn’t have proper footwear. Fortunately, the hotel provided us with snow boots, allowing us to explore the town comfortably. The staff’s hospitality truly made our stay an amazing experience.

Oh dear I starts to missed the place so much 😄
