Well set in Hiroshima, Hilton Hiroshima offers 4-star accommodation close to Myoei-ji Temple and Hiroshima City Minami Ward Community Cultural Center. I liked that it was the Hilton and the low price to stay at such a fancy hotel. The food options were varied although my friend and I only tried out Sensui (expensive, though!). Location-wise, it's pretty decent with a shopping centre close by and a bus stop not too far away. But most of all, I liked how big the rooms were! This was, by far, the best sized room during our entire stay.

Miyajima Guesthouse Mikuniya is a traditional Japanese-style guesthouse located on Miyajima (Itsukushima). It has a beautiful Japanese garden and a large living room, creating a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere. Our friendly mascot cat will welcome you! I thought this would be just a nice sleepover place and nothing more but it is so beautiful and has a very unique traditional feel that it made our stay on the island so much better. You even get free breakfast/dinner if you don't have time to eat outside and depart early in the morning/ don't manage to fetch a table in a reataurant in the evening because there is limited amount of restaurants that are open in late evening or early morning. The whole house is very authentic and the family that runs the place also offers a little souvenir shop with super cheap prices of local souvenirs, some even locally handmade. Thr staff is super nice and the xommom areas welcoming to spend the evenings in game/living room. Also had beautiful garden and amazing views from the rooms right on the sea

The property is a little older but in a very good way (very nostalgic for me). Such good vibes in the lobby and the room was beautiful with a big window looking out over the water. I had never before had kaizeki in my room in this way, or had public onsen, and this experience was absolutely fantastic. The food was very good both at dinner and for breakfast. The bedding was comfortable. I have no complaints and every compliment!

Location was perfect: close to some good restaurants and basically on the bike route. We stayed in a mixed dorm, which was very clean and well-organised. Common shower rooms were very clean. The luggage transfer to our next stop (which was the bike rental in Imabari) worked perfectly.

After a lot of hectic cities, we came to a full relaxation after the complimentary footbaths, private onsen, 5 course dinner specially adjusted for my pregnant wife. Looking out to sea from the room, a tiny tori gate in the distance. It was like heaven.
