Great experience in Nara, just in front of train station, spotless, friendly and comfortable room, the breakfast was unbelievable, you can walk around to all touristic place from the hotel.

Modern and clean facilities that appear as if they were newly renovated. Washrooms were very clean and staff were friendly.

We miss Shikitei and Nara already. This place was truly authentic Japanese. Japanese rooms, with futon beds on the floor and grounding sheets. Best sleep we ever had with our 1 year old and 4 year old. Several different rooms which make it easy to move around after kids are asleep and there is so much space to play. The staff is incredible, super friendly and attentive. The meals were prepared with much thought and love. We booked half board and every night was different. They tried to cater to the kids palette as well and made special meals for them for both breakfast and dinner. Super fresh and delicious. You can book a 60 min massage for around $40 for 60 minutes and we did so for both of us 2 nights in a row. They call someone from outside and they will come to your room. The onsen/ryoken/private bath is wonderful, they allow you to share with the kids and even with tattoos without having to cover them. The bathrooms in the room itself is already an experience with deep onsen bathtub, bucket and shower. Separate toilets from shower and tub. Air conditioning is also provided and the staff was just so helpful and kind and loving. We want to go back there and really enjoyed this unique experience. It's worth every penny and especially if you book the food option too. The walk from the train station is only slightly uphill and manageable and you immediately see deer everywhere. From the little family hotel you walk into the main town of Nara in 10 min with shops and food and you can also find the entrance to walk to the shrine den in the woods as well. we were also greeted with an awesome tea ceremony upon arrival and everyday were served tea and something Japanese in the afternoons in the room.

First and foremost, our dining experiences were absolutely exceptional. From breakfast to lunch and dinner at their private Teppanyaki room, every meal was a masterpiece, complemented by attentive and genuinely warm service. The restaurant staff set a gold standard, going above and beyond to ensure a memorable dining experience. Their professionalism and friendliness truly stood out, and we cannot praise them highly enough. Additionally, the bell service team, especially the three gentlemen from Nepal, were nothing short of outstanding. They exemplify what it means to deliver world-class hospitality. Their kindness, efficiency, and readiness to assist made us feel genuinely cared for. In fact, their impeccable service often compensated for areas where the front office fell short. Several fellow guests we spoke to while waiting for the shuttle bus also shared similar high praise for these individuals. They are truly the business card of this hotel and embody the very best of the JW Marriott brand.

It's absolutely one of the coolest places to stay in Nara. Directly off the main street leading to Nara Park, and super close to JR Nara Station. Its facilities are super up to date, but you can feel the age of the house in a good way. We had also left an item accidentally after checkout and the host did his absolute best, including going out of his way to get it back to us. Overall awesome experience.

it was clean, quiet, near the horyunji temple. there is a bus stop close to the hotel so you can take a short bus ride from the train station. the room was clean with nice amenities. there was a nice public bath and the breakfast was delicious.
