The staff were very helpful and was lovely how they decorated the room for my husbands birthday.

The ryokan has family rooms. Kanko Ryokan is absolutely lovely. A traditional inn on a mountaintop with spectacular view. The tram ride up is fun, very Miyazaki :) Cozy and immaculate. Eiko and her mom and 2 poodles were welcoming and helpful. The private onsen was HOT and relaxing. Breakfast was a visual and tasty delight. Ikoma is a cool little hidden gem and the temple just above is magnificent and well worth a visit. It was my last night in Japan and I took the train from there to Osaka airport, very convenient. I hope to return and would recommend it to any traveller.

An incredible view!! Pure luxury! Fantastic bathroom products, a very large bathroom with the toilet and shower separated — truly a dream room! The staff were all amazing, super friendly, and there was free parking right in front of the hotel! Breakfast itself was a whole experience!! Delicious bread and croissants, a Japanese set with fantastic food, great coffee, fresh juices, and local teas! I could go on all day praising this hotel — it was truly incredible, and definitely one I’d love to repeat someday.

Set within 29 km of Subaru Hall and 40 km of Saifuku-ji Temple in Gojō, 奈良五條の宿 彩 irodori Private lodging features accommodation with seating area. The bedroom was spacious, part of a larger house. We were the only guests and had use of all the facilities- being able to wash and dry clothes overnight was very useful. The owner of the house was exceptionally helpful - she drove us around and we took her to dinner in the evening and she took us to her favorite bar. It was fun to have our own guide and interesting to talk to her about the area. She also drove us to the station the next morning. Definitely a cultural experience!
