Everything was very clean, the facilities were modern and well-equipped, and I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay. The personnel is very kind and helpful. I greatly appreciated the possibility to borrow a well-maintained good quality road bike. The island is a cycling paradise.

We've been to Japan a few times and this was one of our favourite stays ever. We stayed in the beautifully restored guest house and enjoyed an amazing Japanese breakfast in the main house every morning. The owners are a wonderful and incredibly generous family, who went above and beyond and even drove us to local restaurants and a great onsen. As we didn't have a car, we went on a hugely enjoyable tour of the Echigo-Tsumari Art Field with the lovely and very knowledgable Nobu. Huge thanks to Nobu and her family for looking after us and making us feel so welcome.

Ideally set in the Ikenotaira Onsen district of Myoko, Yado Brodiaea is situated 31 km from Zenkoji Temple, 33 km from Nagano Station and 43 km from Suzaka City Zoo. This bed and breakfast features free private parking, luggage storage space and free WiFi. Lake Nojiri is 7.8 km away and Togakushi Shrine is 27 km from the bed and breakfast. The location near the ski bus stop was ideal, the breakfast was a perfect start to each day, and the accommodation was spotless. But what truly set this place apart was the heartfelt hospitality of the hosts. From the moment we arrived, we felt genuinely welcomed. They ensured we had all the information regarding transportation. Their generosity extended to offering us rides, making our stay incredibly convenient.

We had an amazing weekend, attending Fuji Rock festival in the vicinity with the hotel offering us free shuttle service to and from the nearest train station and tips about the surrounding area.

Guest rooms offer both air conditioning and heating facilities. Each room is equipped with a fridge, a personal safe and a TV with satellite channels. All rooms come with a seating area. The food at breakfast and dinner was varied and exceptional. All of the dishes I tried I liked , and they had a nice variety of western and Japanese. The room we had was huge and very comfortable. The onsen facilities were excellent, and very well kept. We are skiers and this hotel was very well setup for skiers. They have locker rooms for storage as well as changing, and on checkout day you can leave all your luggage , go ski, come back and change and then leave. But what makes this hotel a standout is the staff. I speak limited Japanese but had no issues communicating with the staff either speaking directly to them or using google translate. They are kind, patient and will do anything to help you. On checkout day, we went skiing and came back at 11:30 and needed to use the courier service taqubin which is conveniently located inside the hotel gift shop. However, we failed to notice beforehand that the shop takes a close break from 11:30 until 3:30 and our train leaves at 3;15. We were very stressed but the lady who runs the store and handles the courier said no problem, she would stay open just for us and give us time to change out of our ski clothes ,repack our ski gear and come back. It took us longer than we thought to repack and change because we had some trouble locating the ski bag as it was behind the counter in long storage. It didn’t matter, she still waited and when we finally finished she patiently helped us with the forms and everything was handled . When we left again for the station we had some time to wait so we purchased some small sweets and went back to give them to the staff as a thank you for all their exceptional efforts and help with our stay . They seemed genuinely surprised and happy and then walked out to wave us goodbye! How nice and a great happy surprise for us! We cannot recommend this hotel enough and we will be back someday.
