Ideally situated in the Mexico City Historic Centre district of Mexico City, Hotel Catedral is situated 700 metres from National Palace Mexico, 240 m from Metropolitan Cathedral of Mexico City and a 5-minute walk from Zocalo Square. The name of the hotel indicates that it is close to the Mexico City Metropolitan Cathedral, and that is true. It takes several minutes to walk to Zócalo, Templo Mayor from here. Hotel is located in an antique building, but the facilities are in good condition and the room is clean. Under the hotel there is a ruin of Teotihuacan, the Aztec capital. Aside the dining hall we had breakfast everyday, we saw a glass floor and an open ground indoor; the ruin was there. We asked a staff and she told us that was part of the Temple of Ehécatl (God of wind) which was found in 2010. The breakfast of the hotel was rich in content. We were satisfied every morning. Moreover, all staff were warm and helpful.

Barceló Reforma is one of my very favourite hotels: it is centrally located, has excellent facilities, large rooms, very comfortable beds; wonderful, peaceful and appealing ambience; it offers fantastic breakfast; but one of the best features has consistently during several visits been the professionalism, courtesy, competence and helpfulness of staff, on this occasion in particular Diego, who checked me and my colleague and friend in, and offered both of us free upgrades! We both attended an international conference and the conference centre can easily be reached by taxi. During my next visit I will certainly choose Barceló Reforma again!

Quick problem solving (loud people in the neighboring room were told within minutes to quiet down). Spacious room and bathroom, and I liked the layout because it provided some additional privacy between them. Clean. Facilities were functional. Good location near the subway and the "in" areas but without the noise. Water dispensers on every floor.
