This is a vinyard (they don't make wine on site) and is tucked at the end of a valley, so all views were of the Douro river and wineries. The accommodation is distributed in different buildings and there is beautiful landscaping and outdoor seating, plus a pool looking over the valley. The food is very good (breakfast and dinner). We missed out on a wine tasking - you do need to book - but did our own by the glass on the restaurant terrace. Not really for kids, but for adults, a lovely place. The staff were super friendly and really did make us feel welcome.

We were welcomed with homemade port wine and really good recommendations for things to do and places to eat. The room was very clean and cleaned daily, The air conditioning was working very well and made our stay convenient on really hot days. We enjoyed breakfast and infinity pool, and a jacuzzi in the evening as well. Overall our stay was exceptional and we will definitely recommend this gem of Dou ro valley and will arrange another trip to come back!

Bathrooms include a free-standing tub as well as free toiletries. The view from our room was amazing. The staff were amicable and professional. We took the boat tour on the Douro, which was relaxing and scenic. We would definitely go back again to the Octant Douro.

It features an outdoor pool and an on-site restaurant. Everything was excellent. The friendly staff, the fantastic dinner where you meet people from all over the world. Lot's of top class local food and almost "unlimited" wine supply from the house was included in the dinner package that you should not miss. Superb! The pool area was very nice and relaxing. You could also take long walks in the wine yards with fantastic views over the Douro valley. The room was very nice. Fantastic old style but gently renovated.

Leisure options at the Lamego Hotel & Life. Those who would like to stay active can take a walk in the quiet garden. An incredible property. We were just driving through so we only stayed one night, but I would love to return for longer. I think it would make a great base to explore the Douro. The room was spacious and simple. Great linens, lovely bath products. The pool is stunning with a view of the valley. Big, well-appointed fitness center. Gorgeous spa (that I didn't have time to use, sadly.) Fantastic restaurant-- we enjoyed dinner and breakfast, and both were quite good.
