Absolutely lovely hotel. Large rooms to accommodate a family. Karoline (the owner) was wonderful and accommodated our evening checkin. We were in Pfreimd looking for family who had lived there. She was so helpful in contacting individuals that could help us locate them. Her sister even helped translate the individuals we talked to.

Staff was really nice and helpful and the room was very comfortable and roomy. The meals were excellent and of higher quality than other restaurants I have been at.

Cabin was clean and had the needed facilities for a holiday home. Basics like toilet paper, towels and dishwasher tablets were present giving a good start on arrival. The beds were good quality. Location good for trips to (for example) Nürnberg, Munich or Prague. Good to know that the pool is not in the campsite, but the public pool which needs to be paid for each day (you get a stamp, to return later in the day) and besides a few vending machines the nearest bakery and supermarket is 2.5km away.

Everyone was so very helpful and friendly. This was one of the best gasthauses I have stayed in. I had dinner in the restaurant. It was elegant and very delicious. Breakfast in the restaurant was likewise wonderful. Staying at Gasthof Schiesl is worth making a special trip to. My room had everything you could want.

The area in the Bayerish Oberpfalzen Wald is truly beautiful. The views out of the bedroom window!!! The friendly greeting at reception by the host who spoke fluent English and was very pleasant and informative. He said his mum will be here at check out time the next morning who doesn't speak much English, but luckily I spoke some German and we understood most things. She, Regina , was very pleasant and smiley also. Good choice of breakfast and dinner. Great staff. We liked the dinner there too, although the salad dressing (already on the salad) and the clear soup were extremely salty. They were rushed off their feet busy at dinner time, really fully booked! Quiet area. Really clean hotel apart from the staircase which also was relatively clean. Nicely decorated. Nice plants around too attracting bees 🙂 A must welcome bottle of sparkling water awaited us which opened with a little bang like when you open champagne. Great on a hot day after several hours of driving. The room had a little fridge which was cool but not that cold. And the little extras in the bathroom....we're a real surprise! Apart from fresh white towels and clean white bedsheets, in the bathroom there was a mini sewing repair kit, a toothbrush with a mini toothpaste, a pack of tissues (as well as a box of tissues) a little pack with make up remover pads and cotton buds and a mini nail file! Sanitary bags. And a larger bag for the laundry in the wardrobe. I think a shower cap would have been great too.

Very clean and large room. We had the one bedroom suite. Comfortable beds. Staff was super nice, especially Greta (hope I am spelling it right) and Anna. They spent a lot of time talking with my partner. He so appreciated it.
