The villa was very spacious with modern amenities. There was plenty of space for us, with 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. The garden was very large with plenty of shade and the pool was perfect for a refreshing dip. Yiannis was a perfect host, who had all the time to provide some great tips and advice. He was also always on hand for questions if required. The villa is situated in a very small village with no shops, just a restaurant that only opens in the weekend. It is very quiet, if you want to get away from the mad rush of everyday life, this is perfect for you. You do need a car, and within 20 minutes you can visit many beaches, villages and restaurants. Our favourite place to relax was the Salty Goat, with is a beach bar along the Episkopi beach, here 2x sunbed with parasol costs €10. You can also visit club paradise which is on the same beach a little closer to the villa, beds are free as long as you purchase something from the bar. Trips to Lake kournas to see turtles swimming in the lake, hire a peddle boat for an hour to see the turtles. Also Big Waterfall is worth a visit, take note that the water is freezing cold. Chania is also accessible along with a day trip to Balos Beach in the north or Skinaria beach in the south.

Very spacious, well maintained, fully equipped and clean house. We loved it. Location is great with a grocery store and a couple of cute restaurants nearby. Sara was the perfect host. available for any questions and recommendations. Highly recommended!!!

The root house is truly a special place and a unique experience. Staying close to nature, with a small charming sleeping space while everything else is outdoors, yet fully equipped with attention to small details. The place has very good energy to it, the surrounding hills are beautiful and the stars at night are breathtaking. The staff was so generous and welcoming, Maria took care of everything we needed and Adonis, the owner, paid us a nice visit, explained about the surroundings and the house, and left us with lots of fresh vegetables he just picked from the farden he planted there. Take into account it is an off-grud space, close and connected to the surrounding nature. If you come prepared for this kind of adventure, you'll get a true Cretean experience.

Minos Villas are actually a single property, A very nicely renovated traditional Cretan village house at the top of the hill in the village of Armenoi. The single house is devided into two units: a 2 BR / 2 Bath room + Kitchen unit, and a second smaller 1BR/ 1 Bath room + Lounge. The house is situated on a private plot with a gated parking bay, and provides near perfect privacy. We were there during some very hot days, and spent most time in or by the pool, eating, sleeping, pool, rest, pool, BBQ, repeat. It provided an almost perfect stay, so good that we spent most of our time kicking back at the villa rather than roaming the Island :-) The place is well equipped for a comfortable stay, and the owner even went to the length of bringing in a Smoothie machine, once he learned that my wife is a healthfood nut. All BR's have AC, and the beds have all been recently upgraded. Very Nice, Great Stay, we will defently return and Highly Recomended!
