We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The property boasts a picturesque, park-like ambiance with abundant native plants and a symphony of birds. The property is stunning—beautifully landscaped and maintained with many amenities. Each room has its own refrigerator, porch with hammock for lounging. There is a community pool and hot tub, outdoor yoga room, community patio with fire pit and breakfast nook (perfect for bird watching in the morning). The room was so well-done, clean, quiet with many amenities and the most attentive staff. We used the huge hot tub for a relaxing soak after a long day of driving. The healthy breakfast was unbelievable made with deliberate care and attention to detail—so delicious.

My kids loved the pool. The little pools with umbrellas are hot tubs - a wonderful surprise. It rained on and off, but we were able to sit in the hot tub and wait for the sun to come out. The setting is stunning - trees covered in moss, epiphytes, a forest so green it appeared blue sometimes, turquoise river, we saw a sloth suspended in the tree - not hiding, just hanging there. The spa - new, stunning, with reasonable rates. They even let my 7 yr old read and relax in the spa lounge while I got a massage. All staff were incredibly kind and went above and beyond. We loved the details big and small - beautiful coy pond and the chance to feed the fish, umbrellas appearing everywhere, immaculate trails lined in gravel to keep us from slipping. Our new favorite hotel.

We loved a very clean and spatious room, the little patio opening right into the tropical forest was lovely, the pool was exceptional and we had it all to ourselves. The hotel's location is very convenient: very close to Rio Celeste, Bijagua, and the massive Arbol de la Paz. The typical Costa-Rican breakfast was great too.

I liked that it was easy to get to from Liberia and that the little cabin was spotlessly clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The 7 hot spring pools are delightful, each has a different temperature from hot to warm. There is also a swimming pool. They keep the pools very clean draining and refilling in rotation. All the dairy products are made on site as the property also has a working dairy farm.

First, the owners of this property are incredible people. They went out of their way to make my stay the most pleasant experience. The breakfast was absolutely wonderful, from fresh local fruit to empanadas to eggs and avocado. I was hiking the volcano nearby (which this place is an awesome location for Volcan Miravalles), and the owners woke up early just to make sure I was fed before my journey. Next, the property itself is so serene. The trees, birds, and tropical life all around was amazing. I was able to read a book by a little lake by myself. I will definitely be back to this property and to visit the owner Roger and his lovely wife. Thank you!!

Rio Perdido is located just a 45-minute drive from Daniel Oduber International Airport and features 11 mi of on-site hiking trails and a thermal river with hot-spring pools.

The thermal river is incredible. This is one of the most unique locations in the world. Crystal clear water that's as warm as a hot tub. Hiking trails along the river are beautiful. The staff was amazing! Food was delicious. I don't typically comment on staff at hotels, however the staff at this hotel was one of the best I've experienced and we travel at 5-star resorts around the world. Carlos met us via a golf cart as soon as we pulled into the parking lot. We jumped in with him and left everything in our car. During the check-in process, I was reading through some of the paperwork and casually commented that I didn't have my reading glasses. Carlos arranged a table for us at dinner, since it was late when we checked in and 15 minutes after seating us, he stopped by our table with my reading glasses which he had grabbed from our car. I was so impressed that he took the initiative to find and bring my glasses to dinner! He escorted us to our room after dinner and everything had been neatly arranged for us in the room. Groceries unpacked. Shoes lined up. Suitcases put away. The food at Rio Perdido was the best we had in Costa Rica. Thanks for a great trip!
