United StatesI really loved the environment. As soon as we pulled up to property I appreciated its bohemian boutique style, with friendly staff, comfortable pool area and chairs and delicious food. I really loved our family room as well. The option to turn the sofa bed and swap it out for a second single bed was a nice option that was offered. Also the ability to call us a local taxi was so nice. Loved communicating via WhatsApp.

United Stateswhat a gem! everything about this place was excellent! from the communication ahead of time, to check in, to check out, everything was wonderful. Natalie and her partner are so welcoming and enthusiastic, the property is so clean, well landscaped and beautiful, and the location is amazing if you want to be near the beach, but not in the hectic atmosphere of the city. it's very easy to find and not too far of a drive from lots of activities, restaurants, and the beach (there is a small village even closer than tamarindo where there are a few tiendas and a bar as well). the rooms are spacious and so clean, the grounds are simply beautiful, and when you go to the pool you wish you hadn't made any plans to go elsewhere. if you are traveling with companions and need 3 rooms - it's even better! my sisters and i each had a cabana and it was like we had our own slice of paradise - howler monkeys can be heard in the morning and at night, if there are thunderstorms, the porches are incredible places to watch the lightning and be dry. of the 7 places i stayed on this trip, this was by far my favorite! i expected it would be nice based on photos and reviews, but it even exceeded my expectations! the warmth and hospitality from Natalie and her partner made it even better. The room was perfect for two people and the hotel provides shampoo, conditioner, body wash, towels, and there was air conditioning and a ceiling fan. We loved that there was breakfast included and a bar and restaurant on site. There was a well maintained pool in their beautiful outdoor space, a even a little boutique! The staff was so attentive, friendly, and accommodating. Walking distance from the beach, but we drove there and it took about 2 minutes. Highly recommend staying here if you're going to Playa Negra!

United StatesWe just got back from an incredible stay at Mundo Milo Lodge and are already dreaming about our next visit. Nestled in the jungle, it’s about a five minute walk to a beautiful, quiet beach that’s perfect for a relaxing afternoon, and just a little further up you can snorkel around the rocky reef at Playa Blanca where you will spot tons of colorful fish. Hang out a bit to watch a magnificent sunset over the water.
The 7 private bungalows are beautiful — spacious, peaceful, and thoughtfully designed (some with air-conditioning if you want it). The pool is a perfect spot to cool off between adventures, and having a restaurant and bar right on site makes everything easy. The food was fresh and delicious every single time.
What really made this trip special was the people. Lieke and Michael, the owners, are down to earth and incredibly kind. Lieke made us feel like friends within just a few days and was an integral part of planning our adventures. The lodge provided snorkeling gear and Lieke even drove us up to the snorkel beach; later that day she also arranged a kayak tour through a nearby mangrove estuary for us. She can also set up a private van from the airport for a very competitive rate — we’d highly recommend the driver, Milton, who took great care of us. Marisol and Berta serve up delicious fresh-cooked meals, and Adriana’s piña coladas made with fresh pineapple are the best we’ve had and are always served with the warmest, most genuine smile.
This place is a true gem — beautiful, peaceful, and run by people who clearly care. We can’t wait to come back!

United StatesThis 2 bedroom property exceeded our expectations. It is a new property, well designed and very comfortable. We loved that there is a plunge pool to enjoy after a day at the beach. Property was very well secured with a fence all around that we could lock, and during the day we left our car secured at the property and was able to easily walk to the beach about 10 min away. The hosts were fantastic and very responsive, and the property was extremely well appointed with coffee, well equipped kitchen, beautiful bathroom, beach chairs, pool toys, etc. We would definitely stay here again!

United StatesOur family of four (our two sons are in their early 20s) really lucked out with this place! We had to change our accommodations last minute after sleeping in a very bug-infested, hot, stuffy, dirty place down in Playa Junquillal. After our night of misery, this place was a dream.
We felt safe with a gated parking area/facility area. It's a small "hotel", which is really nice– I think 12 rooms total (?) all overlooking a lovely pool. It is SUPER clean and stylish and comfortable. I think during the busy season they may have a breakfast option with a little outdoor dining area, but we were there when it was quiet.
Our family "room" was two levels. The downstairs included a big living area, kitchen, small bathroom, big patio, and the upstairs included two bedrooms with closets and a bathroom. The "master" had a comfy king bed (rare find) and a big closet where we could put our suitcases. The other bedroom had two comfortable twin beds. There was room at the top of the stairs to put your suitcases if you needed to. The whole house was air-conditioned, which can make a big difference.
Sue, the host, was fantastic– very kind and easy to communicate with. It is a little ways from the beach, but really only a 10-15 min. walk or 5 min drive (we saw monkeys in the trees on the way there), and there are PLENTY of places to eat around there. The roads are ROUGH in this part of Costa Rica, so be prepared.
Gregorio's and La Purruja were two of our favorites. And the Avellanas Surf Hostel & Cafe down the street from this place made yummy, inexpensive ham and cheese paninis.
I highly recommend staying here!

Super great location right on the beach - felt like a private Oasis The front porch Hammock was awesome and the host was very kind . The sound of waves crashing a night was beautiful and the beach is great for walking and sun bathing... this area isn't great for swimming as there are lots of big rocks and the tides can be strong.. but overall very beautiful and conviently located .. I was there during full moon and we saw a sloth in a tree a little further up the beach . We also went horse back riding with the local horse rescue.

Lolo is a wonderful host. Breakfast was delicious, as was dinner. Lolos yogurt and bread are spectacular. The property is beautiful and peaceful. It offers an oasis of tranquility separated from the beaches during high season. Rooms are clean, private and very comfortable. The pools is great too. Overall, it was just what we were looking for.

My family found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed the daily activities such as the sunset cocktails, marshmallow roast on the beach, massages at the spa, and classes we signed up for. Also the ability for the 15 of us to get together and relax in the patio area.
