Great complex, we stayed in an annex log-house. The log-houses are very spacious and cozy. The heat was turned up to 11, the floors were burning :) Bedroom had old carpet and furniture smell, but manageable. Note that the log houses are a bit far from the main hotel, but they offer free shuttle which is very prompt, so the distance didn't matter that much, you just have to call to the reception and in max 2 minutes somebody picks you up. The onsen they offer is lovely, especially the outdoor one.

Great breakfasts including - at our request - sampling of local / Japanese breakfast specialties Close, ~ 1 kilometer from Mt. T ski area and gondola ride. Very friendly staff. The proprietor Kieren is Australian. He is really tied into the local culture. Mentioning his name and flashing his business card brought big smiles and compliments, and discounts a local ski resorts, hot springs, and restaurants.Casual informal atmosphere at the lodge, and a very nice bar / taproom in the main downstairs area, with a nice central woodstove. We felt like family. Kieran's assistant Nanna was also super friendly and engaging to talk to.

In addition i really love that they have arcade games, massage chair and also karaoke rooms. seeing the arcade games was nostalgic and makes me reminiscence my childhood times . Although old school but these games are getting rare to see these days.

Surrounded by a forest, Karuizawakurabu Hotel 1130 Hewitt Resort offers spacious accommodations, public indoor/outdoor hot-spring baths and traditional multi-course meals. Wonderful location. Room was spacious. Breakfast was exceptional - tremendous variety. Staff was very friendly and helpful, despite the language barrier.
