The room — and house — was exceptionally clean and well decorated. The facility also had a peaceful, quiet feel. Mel, our host, was fantastic. She was friendly and helpful. Her breakfast was excellent as well. The room also had its own toilet, sink, and shower. The water was hot and plentiful. The bed was comfortable. WiFi and TV worked flawlessly. Parking was ample, the flowers and grounds were well maintained. We highly recommend as stay at Kingsdown Manor!

Super friendly greeting, to go with a beautiful property. The breakfast in the morning was fantastic, as was getting to feed the chickens with our toddler. Some great advice for nice walks too. Would 100% stay here again if we were in the area!

The owners Des and Kay were really accommodating, friendly and helpful. We have been in NZ travelling for 2 weeks. They were the only owner/managers who bothered to write to us before we arrived asking if we needed anything special or could they help with anything. ON arrival they upgraded us to a better room based on our needs. And they had no problem us vacating the room an hour later, as we had some important admin things to do with their good WIFI.

What an amazing location, apartment and host! First off, the host. Peter provided great communication throughout the process. Extremely detailed information about how to access the apartment, how to park if needed, etc. He also provided great deails about the local area and restaurants. He was also very responsive to my questions about where to potentailly eat since we arrived late. And the really important part - his help after we left! I accidentally left my Bose noise cancelling earbuds behind. This was super frustrating as we had A LOT of travel/plane trips to do yet and not having them for the 18 hours of flying to get home was going to be BAD. He left me know I left them, then offered to post them to me since we would not be back in Christchurch. He sent them to our stay in Queenstown, provided the tracking information and was super helpful when the mangers our stay in Queenstown were less than helpful in getting the package to me. THANK YOU!! As for the apartment - it was awesome. The location can't be beat. The building is beautiful, and the apartment was perfect. Plenty of room to spread out, so clean and big! It was like stepping back in time in a good way, being in an older building. It had everything you could possibly need. I wish we would have had more time to stay and enjoy this lovely apartment and beautiful city!
