We stayed for 5 nights and enjoyed every minute of it: the view, the surrounding forest and plains with tracks and bike lanes, excellent breakfast with lots of options, the service, the staff, not too pushy, but there if you needed anything, the quiet nights, the fact that there is no music at the restaurant and you can actually hear and feel the nature around you. The rooms are spotless, spacious, with everything you need, same in the bathroom.

This was truly an exceptional stay. We went to this hotel for a relaxing few days in spa and it was beyond our expectations. Starting from rooms and ending with the food - everything was great. You can even order to sleep on the herbal pillows - which gives you an extra relaxation. Spa is really great with many saunas and swimming pools, natural lake. Definitely will come back!

Location was great for visiting both Salzburg and Halstatt, rooms were better than in the photos, very spacious and with comfortable beds, spa was fantastic in terms of all the facilities available (3 saunas, hamam, indoor and outdoor pool) PLUS open until 10 pm which is a huge convenience and given the size of the hotel it was never crowded and the staff was super friendly and accommodating. Breakfast was pretty great as well and lots of nice touches like complimentary mulled wine and cookies at the entrance of the hotel. I'd love to go back!

We absolutely adored our stay at Seehotel Brandauer's Villen. The setting right on Lake Wolfgangsee is pure magic, especially since it snowed during our visit! Waking up to those winter mountain and water views was unforgettable. The spa area, especially the sauna, offered an absolutely amazing panoramic view watching the snow fall over the lake was pure bliss. The breakfast buffet was absolutely delicious, and service was top-notch; every member of the staff was genuinely friendly and helpful. I liked everything! The location is amazing, secluded and calm but also has everything you need like food at the restaurant or 5 minutes away by car at any supermarket. I would definitely come again. Friends' groups, however, shall watch out for the showering situation 😂 it is more like a romantic getaway 😉 but I still had lots of fun with my friend there. Ah the Seilbahn is 5 minutes away aaand Hallstaat is about an hour, although I don't recommend leaving the heaven of this place and going to the touristic horror of Hallstaat.

Staff was very nice to us, they helped with everything what we needed. We had so delicate diners. The room was cleaned and we had everyday cleaning service. We appreciate the large parking spot opposite of the hotel. Because of sleeping time of our young baby at the same time as dinner time the staff brought us the dinner in the evening to our room when we ask for it. It was really helpful atd we could enjoy our stay. Moreover this hotel has a terrace and you can enjoy your breakfast with beautiful lake view. For us 10/10.

Loved this hotel with our room overlooking Wolfgangsee in Strobl. Lovely comfortable room and bed. Little sofa and seat made it a great place to relax. On the roof is a fantastic little outdoor heated pool with a steam room and sauna. Restaurant was very good as was breakfast. Staff were all lovely and friendly. Location is great with good bus service and boats on the lake.

When we were there the village was quiet and we had great...

When we were there the village was quiet and we had great weather. It can be good for sunsets. We self catered so cannot comment on the restaurants but there are two stores and a petrol station that had most things you would need. It's great for walking. We walked both directions partly around the lake including to St. Wolfgang where I can warmly recommend Julia's Imbriss Treff for a light lunch. Of course from there you can get the cog railway up to the Schafberg which is dramatic and was one of the three top highlights of our time in Austria. We also visited Salzburg, Mondsee and Hallstatt,though the later was already quite busy even in what is a shoulder season.

Sankt Gilgen is a beautiful village.

Sankt Gilgen is a beautiful village. Obviously, the Wolfgang lake is the main attraction, so beautiful and serene. Unfortunately, because of the season (March) there weren't any ships. They start their schedule in April and you could see the whole lake and the other villages.

It is a residential town so not much atmosphere or amenities other than hotels. It suited us very well as it was very peaceful. Driving or taxi into Salzburg is the best option. Otherwise a bus or taxi to an out of town shopping centre plus a bus from there. We parked out the out of town shopping centre for dinner and got a parking ticket. It was not well advertised that we should have paid for parking. Nothing to do with the hotel but be warned!

Beautiful scenery and the views across the lake are amazing. Limited supermarket facilities and quite expensive - worth shopping further afield if you have a car. Check restaurant opening times as some were closed when you might expect them to be open, and make a reservation during busy seasons (school holidays) !

The Hof bei Salzburg itself is a beautiful peasefull village, very calm and quiet. Lots of supermarkets and DM store available and located in the village. In the evening after 7 pm everithing pretty closed, so make your shopping in advance.

A beautiful, rural area ten minutes by car from Old Town...

A beautiful, rural area ten minutes by car from Old Town Salzburg. The 180 degree view from the Gasthof Maria Plain hotel terrace, and from the balcony of room #20 which we had, captures sweeping pastoral greenery in the foreground, behind which is the city of Salzburg with the iconic fortress on the berg, back-dropped by the soaring Austrian Alps. And the sky at night is spectacular! Want an authentic taste of Austrian Gemütlichkeit? This is your place!

The staff and hospitality, the effort they made to speak to...

The staff and hospitality, the effort they made to speak to me in English, they even brought me breakfast out to the patio, everyone else was inside the dining hall, I wanted to enjoy the nice fall weather, by the way the breakfast was easily worth $35.00

Walk around the Bürglstein is very nice and calming.

Walk around the Bürglstein is very nice and calming. City itself is much calmer than the other ones (St. Gilgen and St. Wolfgang), but still there is everything what would you need, water fun, grocery store, ice cream stand.

St Gilgen is probably one of the better kept secrets, it is very charming historical town on the lake Wolfgang, surrounded by mountains and super romantic for Christmas and New Year Eve period. Due to lack of ski options, town is not open for tourist from 6 Jan approx to Easter, however, it is well worth the visit around Christmas period, there was market across the old city centre, with live music, the decorations everywhere were beautiful, lake had running ferry services even when it snowed, connecting to Strobl and St Wolfgang towns. Close to Salzburg, but great place to stay put , relax and breathe.

the staff is amazing

the staff is amazing To things are subjects for improvement First 1.enrich the breakfast 2.There is no refrigerator and safe in the rooms, in my opinion this is a big drawback, a hotel with excellent service like the Kammel needs a safe and a refrigerator in the room for the comfort of the guests
