    Loved this unique and quaint glamping place. Owner 'Chook' was very welcoming and warm. It was such a novelty staying in a dome tent similar to the Mongolian tents but with all the comforts of a modern bathroom and toilet, and modern heating! As we came in July, it was freezing cold. Thank goodness for the electric blankets. And yet because we came in winter, the early morning frost and sunrise was amazing! The beautiful shots were well worth the possibility of being frost bitten! The friendly animals added a lovely touch to the farm. And the location is right within the Clare Valley wineries.

    An exceptional property in every way. The location can’t be beat, it’s fully stocked with everything one would need and absolutely beautiful inside and out. The back patio looks over the Riesling Trail, a peaceful setting. Communication and value, excellent. We would return to St Helen’s Cottages in a heartbeat!!

    Our room was wonderful with extra details tended too. There was a snake for the door which helped with breeze and that extra annoying light problem we all face at night, there were bins in every room, a full length mirror and the bed was very comfortable!

    Loved the exciting drive to the property, the serenity and isolation, the knick knacks to explore in the cottage, the gazebo was perfect for the cocktail hour. The breakfasts were generous (very delicious bacon) - way beyond our capacity to finish!

    Easy access to wineries.

    Easy access to wineries. Loved the ambience of Shut The Gate winery. Great meal in the Seven Hills pub. Art and crafts stores/galleries were not open. The Arts collective was supposed to be opened at 10am, we arrived on time, waited 8 minutes and no one came to open up - very disappointing! Would not visit Pikes winery again. We were not permitted to purchase a glass of wine and sit by the fire to drink it. We were the only people in the place at the time. We would have needed to purchase a full tasting experience to sit by its fire. Really folks!!

    Burra is a town with an amazing mining history.

    Burra is a town with an amazing mining history. It is full of houses that are up to 150 years old. When in Burra, buy the Burra Passport from the tourist information centre. It provides access to the main tourist attractions including the mine site, Bon Accord museum, Redruth Gaol and the miner’s dugouts.

    We loved the accomodation ! Battunga cottages 10/10 Fire was ready to light, local wine and ample local produce ready to enjoy. We didn't get to the Watervale Hotel but will next time -the menu looked excellent! We enjoyed the Crabtreee Reisling -it was beautiful -visit them ! Pikes winery for dinner was excellent too.

    our stay in Auburn was overnight for the purpose of walking the reisling trail between clare and auburn so our stay here was perfect we had a lovely meal at the pub where we were served by friendly hospitable staff

    A very short drive to many wineries and to Clare for e.g. supplies. The historical buildings in Mintaro made for a nice stroll. The Magpie and Stump pub was great. The cafe open Friday mornings and weekends was also great.

    There is no village at Penwortham.

    There is no village at Penwortham. It's just a few houses along a road between Auburn and Clare. I was surprised by how few people were around over the weekend. It was very quiet on Clare on Saturday afternoon.

    There is a lot of history in and around Farrell Flat area...

    There is a lot of history in and around Farrell Flat area you have Burra 10 minutes down the road Mintaro is another historic place to visit. There is a beautiful painting of a train on the silo's at Farrell Flat. I know there are travellers that are going around to places just to see all the painted silo's around their state this is just another place to put on the list to visit.

    There is so much to see and do in the Clare Valley.

    There is so much to see and do in the Clare Valley. The wineries, historical sites such as Sevenhill, Mintaro, Polish Hill River. Restaurants, hotels and bakeries are first class and cater for all budgets. The countryside is beautiful with lots of native wildlife to be seen and can be experienced by walking, bike hire or driving.

    Love the history of Burra.

    Love the history of Burra. Good shops for such a small country town. Dining was excellent. Information ℹ️ office staff very helpful. Went to all the key sites which is good value. Burra is a must see.
