Featuring barbecue facilities and free WiFi, Riverview Tourist Village is set in Katherine. Boasting a shared kitchen, this property also has a restaurant and an outdoor pool. A clean accommodation which is well-equipped with cooking utensils and cutlery. It is sufficient to cook simple meals, particularly it was Boxing Day when we checked-in, almost every cafe was closed. Hot spring can be access from the backgate of the property, though it’s closed during summer. It can still be accessed easily from the side gate. Although it was a tiny container style, the bathroom were surprisingly spacious to move around in a long rectangular strip, vs one we stayed in Taiwan - Jiufen (which can only fit one person and can’t walk). We came from a 4-stars hotel in another town and this accommodation was way better than the hotel we stayed - simply well-maintained and clean. It made everyone happier, at least we didn’t have to sleep with lizards and cockroaches running around! The receptionist was a sweet lady who gave us a few ideas to get some hot food for lunch on Boxing Day. We ended up having lunch at Katherine Country Club, which is two minutes drive away. The country club is open to the public for lunch and dinner.

It was more than we expected. The room was big and tidy and had anything we needed including a micriwave, which was the first time we had one throughout our 2 weeks holiday in Australia. There was a cheap laundry room, free parking and good tips we got from the lovely host about local attractions.

Good management, good price, walk to town, only place I'll stay in katherine
This was my second stay here only this time I stayed in a cabin as opposed to a tent last time. Fortunately I did as the humidity at this time of year is very high and it rained heavily overnight. The room was neat and had all facilities required...bed, air conditioner, fan, tv, fridge, microwave etc plus a shower/toilet facilities. Rates in wet season are considerably much less so I managed to get a good deal. Car parking is available at front of cabins.
