The rooms are large and comfortable. The fridge and coffee pot (with coffee and milk provided) was a great addition. On site laundry. Good breakfast with wide variety of items for $18 additional. Featuring air-conditioned accommodations with a balcony, Far Away Escape is set in Kingscote. This beachfront property offers access to a patio, free private parking and free WiFi. The house is absolutely terrific. Much space, comfy furniture, all necessary kitchen appliances and machines included. We loved the little terrace at the front of the house, where you could have breakfast with a view of the ocean. Washing machine and dryer make it easy to do some laundry. The dish washer saves you from doing the dishes on vacation. Very quiet location, but still close to commercial Kingscote. Heating blankets in the bed keep you extra warm at night. Loved the house, would definitely go there again.
Offering a barbecue, Villas on the Bay Kingscote is located in Kingscote. All units are air conditioned and have a flat-screen TV. Some units include a seating area and/or terrace. The property was exactly as shown in the photos, clean, comfortable and welcoming. The staff were friendly and happily accommodated our request for an earlier check .... thank you!!

Excellent location for Kangaroo Island Ferry. We had a large room with balcony. Lovely water views. Nice pizza restaurant attached to hotel.
It was really good as it was central, nice cute quiet town, the apartment had all facilities necessary for cooking cleaning, bathroom use etc. my favourite part was having the heated room and electric blanket as I feel the cold easily
Great location. Opposite the sea with a good view. Close to the town, easy walk to shops and hotels. Safe location.
All the things in the property.
Fantastic bush block behind it which met our plant collecting needs (we are from the Botanic gardens in Adelaide). Please keep it up. The wildflowers will attract many tourists. Regards
Excellent view over Kingscote and the bay. Very comfortable house. If it wasn't for the smoke from the KI bushfires and the worry of whether the fires would reach us, it would have been perfect.
Excellent location just s few minutes outside of town. Super clean. The place is well run. Really nice manager.
Fairly convenient location to the rest of Kangaroo Island. House is close to the oyster shop which we really enjoyed. Kitchen was quite well equipped and the house clean. Will be better if alumimium foil/baking paper is provided. Finding chopsticks in the drawer was a pleasant surprise as we like using chopsticks. Beautiful sunrise view from the verandah/rooms.
Location, original home, facilities & outlook. A truly amazing few days at this beautiful place...
breakfast variety, the owner is really nice, room and bathroom were clean
Location was spectacular so we didn't mind at all the remoteness from the rest of KI's attractions. The remoteness was also a plus, a complete and perfect getaway. Would have loved to have spent more time exploring the property and immediate surrounds. Very comfortable and superbly appointed villa.
The property was amazing. We had Kangaroos, Possums and Echidnas just outside the villa. The facilities and amenities in the Villa were outstanding. We were able to lie in bed and see all of the stars in the sky. We will definitely be coming back!
“ liked” is definitely the wrong word... completely LOVED every thing about the property. From the moment you turn into the family farm you were blown away. The drive in .. the views ... the wild life before you even get to the house and then that’s a whole other experience LOL. The first I saw of the homestead was after driving in and entering on the right side of the house next to the carport. literally looks likes the house was floating on the water, set the perfect setting for what all came next... the place is magic and can’t be faulted. We had someone who chose to camp out and hand picked a camping spot on the left side of the property, just brought a whole different dynamic to the experience. We had the best of both worlds. Camp life, and the Specialness of “Nat’s house”. It’s a must stay if visiting the island. Kate and Andy were incredibly lovely to meet and very grateful for Their hospitality and sharing their property with us.
Dedrie is such a friendly hostess, Large rooms, great kitchen with everything we needed, easy access and parking, highly recommended at a very reasonable price.
Location is amazing! Best view of Emu Bay! Front yard is large, flat and grassed so kids could run, ride and play ball games while we could see them from the balcony. Playground is right across the road! Easy to find, first house on your left! Linen provided including towels which was great! House was clean, comfortable and had everything we needed.
Loved the peace and quite. So relaxing. With a great view
Craig was amazing. Facilities were fantastic and the location was spectacular. It was just a shame we didnt have better weather
What a fantastic hideaway! The remote location, the view over the landscape towards the ocean, and the luxury of the house and kitchen is what we had hoped for our five day retreat after our arrival in Australia! Above all, Carly is a great host and helped us to plan our visit, gave great suggestions for our stay and prepared the property for our arrival with fresh bread and cheese and wine in the fridge. If it wasn‘t so far away from Switzerland, we would come back anytime.
Wallaby Retreat is just sensational! My partner and I were looking for a tree change from the city and this home was perfect. So close to Kingscote, it’s in a great location to get around KI. the house itself has everything we needed for 4 days, so clean and comfortable. And it totally lives up to its name, with up to 20 wallabies grazing around the property at different times of the day. I would highly recommend this home, exceptional!
