The staff were very considerate and helpful. We checked in later than expected (8:45 p.m.) due to traffic issues on the Hume HWY and then eating dinner before restaurants closed downtown. No hassles at all at check-in and when we saw our comfortable, clean, contemporary designed bedroom we were elated. Especially the next morning when we opened our drapes to see the charming town below and the panoramic view of mountains in the background. Breakfast that morning was amazing too! My husband is partial to moist scrambled eggs and y'all delivered on that point. Forgot to mention the bed was very comfortable and the room temperature perfect.

This is a surprisingly well kept secret, what a great place.

This is a surprisingly well kept secret, what a great place. Although a bit out of the way it's a worth a stay of say 4-5 days in the cooler months. It's good to find out about the different types of grapes and what they're used for - not all for wine!!! The locals are only too happy to share their experiences and knowledge with you.

People are friendly ,the history of Echuca & getting to know...

People are friendly ,the history of Echuca & getting to know you’re way around ,we used the aqua centre for swimming ,( as we didn’t have a pool at the terraces where we stayed ) great value and staff are very helpful and turned out excellent,if you like the steam room also . We are at the Chinese restaurant in Moama which we can recommend also.

Wodonga is the more upmarket side of the NSW/Victoria border...

Wodonga is the more upmarket side of the NSW/Victoria border. It lacks much in the way of heritage, with only the old railway station (now a trendy cafe area) as any real form of architecture. Albury is a bit more heritage-minded, although not the most pleasant of towns overall, with something of a rough reputation compared with its Victorian twin.

The Swan Hill Show is a great place for families with young...

The Swan Hill Show is a great place for families with young children, the first weekend in October. Other items of interest at any time, include the Catalinas at the Flying Boat Museum, Lake Boga. There are excellent restaurants, especially Java Spice.

Yarrawonga mulwala is beautiful area with river and lake, great views, natural bush along river, good facilities intown shops cafes, clubs, entertainment on some nights. Weather always warmer than Melbourne. Plenty of accommodation options. Golf club excellent.

Yarrawonga, on the Victorian side of the bridge, is the main commercial center of the area. Many Pubs, Take-Away shops and Cafes with most of the "Majors" also represented in town. Best value place to eat and drink is Club Mulwala (particulalrly if you become a Social Member for $5.00); The most expensive and disappointing place we found, was the Criterion Hotel; $17.50 for a 250ml 'House Wine' is the most we have paid anywhere in regional Victoria! Activities at Lake Mulwala are centered on the Lake that was formed when the Murray river was dammed, many years ago. Club activities and venues are plentiful. A varying range and cost of Accommodation can be found in both Mulwala and Yarrawonga. Easy to get to by Car and V-Line bus services from Benalla. there is a daily Train connections to Southern Cross Station in Melbourne as well.

Rutherglen is an interesting small town in the north east of Victoria and vineyard country. Many old and well maintained houses and commercial buildings. A pleasant main street with interesting shops and good coffee. A walking scale town and a great stop-over between Canberra and Melbourne, especially if you are not in a hurry and like to drive off the main roads.

LOVED it there are great shops there for shopping, friendly country town. Got Vinnies op shop there very cheap nice staff. Lots of yummy coffee and food shops, a few pubs and clubs. Very lay back country town.
