The location is fantastic, as everything in town is easily accessible. A wonderful place for a stopover on the Great Ocean Route from Melbourne to Adelaide. The reception was easy to find, and the welcome was very warm. Many small extras created a cozy atmosphere. I can highly recommend this stay without hesitation. The place is large, beautifully decorated and it's like a home away from home, exactly like the pictures. Ideal location tucked away too. I would highly recommend it and will definitely be back.

The property is non-smoking and is situated 12 km from Bendigo Stadium. Wow, wow, wow! This little property deceived me from the outside. We stepped inside the door and everything was perfect. So well fitted out and the decor was delightful with every creature comfort including books, magazines, and board games. A delicious continental breakfast was provided, and they had thought of everything right down to a little container of stewed fruit. We will definitely be back. Thank you :)

At the guest house, each unit is fitted with bed linen and towels. The homestay hosts were extremely kind and welcoming. The breakfast provided was light, healthy and lovely. We also enjoyed the conversation we had with the host, who is an author. We talked about his work and even left the homestay with a copy of his book!

As an added convenience, River Gardens Axedale Pet Friendly Farmstay B&B offers packed lunches for guests to bring on excursions and other trips off-property. The staff were very welcoming and friendly and told us what we needed to know. The decor was lovely - very homely and attractive. The massage chair was a bonus and the bed was comfortable. We enjoyed our stay.

Yet only a gentle 15-minute walk let us experience the most exquisite dining experience without needing to drive to the AVA restaurant. The accommodation, along with the restaurant, should both be regarded as Michelin hat/ star quality. Will definitely be rebooking in the future.
