BelgiumIt was our fourth stay in the hotel. The SPA is incredible, one of the nicest I have been. Our room was upgraded to an apartment, big thanks to the friendly, accommodating staff. The small New year’s presents with hotel logo, was a nice touch. The food is delicious prepared with products from the hotel farm. My son liked the children indoor playground and enjoyed the kids cinema evening with popcorn. We will definitely come back!

The food is great at the buffet cantina. There is a HERO in the background at the buffet who is cookcing awsome food. I booked with breackfest included but then I decided to go each nigh and talke my dinner at the hotel buffet since there is nothing in Bansko that can beat what they provide. And the price is perfect.

RomaniaThe room was spacious, with a modern design, and not a lot of noise could be heard from the outside. The bathroom was spacious, equipped with a bathtub, instant hot water, and great pressure. We received two free bottles of water and coffee every day, courtesy of the coffee machine. The fridge was quite big and made no noise. The temperature in the room was great. The bed was very comfortable. There was also an electric stove. Cleaning was done daily; shampoo, shower gel, bathrobes, and towels were replaced daily if you left them on the floor. The breakfast was varied and delicious. Sometimes it was a buffet, sometimes à la carte, depending on the number of guests. We also had dinner a couple of times at the hotel's restaurant, and the food was correctly cooked. We went during the week, so we basically had the spa area all to ourselves, which was wonderful. The hotel staff was very attentive, helpful, and nice. The reception area was also very nice, with lovely Christmas decorations. They organized a fine dining wine-pairing dinner, which we were informed about before our stay, requiring a 50% deposit. It was a bit expensive, but in my opinion, it was worth it, and it was the culinary highlight of our stay. So I would definitely recommend it if you have the chance.

AustraliaEverything about this hotel is exceptional. We were greeted by Nino and Stefan upon our arrival and they were pleasant from the start to finish. We stayed in the half chalet which is detached at the back of the hotel, it's very cosy and perfectly heated. We ate downstairs one night at the restaurant which was a great change from the traditional Bulgarian food we had each other night. They gave us recommendations on where to eat and what to do on our day off from skiing. The lobby was great Stefan had a signature cocktail menu he created and all of them we tried were fantastic. Nino would drive us to the ski lift each morning after breakfast it was so convenient.
A lovely family run hotel, highly recommended. Quiet and away from the busyness on the main street.

First thing that is really nice is the location of the property. Right after entering Sandaski, it’s really reachable.
Really clean, nice rooms, good spa and indoor pool alongside the outside one. The breakfast food was pretty good.
Kaufland is also really close in case of need for shopping.
Overall really good experience.

Omaya Eco Village is a set of seven small houses of exceptional, truly ecological architecture.
Each house is different and located remotely from the next one, offering a unique opportunity to spend relaxing time in an untouched forest. Highly suggested for both families and group of friends - above all those who can truly appreciate real natural environment with minimum human intervention.
Breakfast and dinner were delicious, prepared on site with local, organic ingredients and mainly typical Bulgarian cuisine plates.
Wi-Fi was more than fine (which is especially difficult for such a large area), and staff are helpful and friendly.
Facilities, considering the location within the forest, do need constant care and renovation; the place is not for those who expect to find 5-star hotel service and environment.

This hotel is such a rare gem 💎 that we feel lucky and blessed to have had the opportunity to be there and experience the beautiful surroundings, enjoying the nature, listening to the river next to the hotel, and the mineral pools - everything was absolutely amazing 👏. The staff were so polite and friendly, smile was 24 hrs on their face, and the food was delicious and affordable!

Very nice hotel located in the beautiful place! Outstanding spa atmosphere, super Balkan kitchen and very rich breakfasts in the morning. Very nice personnel, looks like from different Asian countries.
We were 5 and stayed in the independent villa. In general, great combination pricing and quality!

Normal 4* hotel, excellent breakfast, clean rooms with reasonable spa facilities. It is located very close to the park and has its own free parking. Because there weren't many people at the pool it was excellent for us, but it's not very big and compensates with an interesting jacuzzi.

I really enjoy visiting this part of Bulgaria, and the castle is definitely my spot! The hotel offers a great service, a relaxing atmosphere and spa zone, and an excellent location near Leshten and Kovatchevitza, both worth visiting! I recommend!

Although Bankso is mostly know as a ski resort, we were there during the summer, and it did not disappoint!!
The surrounding mountian scenery is absolutley stunning and extremely tranquil.
We went of various hikes in ther area which offered breathtaking views.
Strolling through town was great fun and we were lucky to have been there during the jazz festival, which was amazing.
The Pulse Therme - Thermal Spa is an absolute must!! We've never been to a Spa like this before. Just phenomenal!! (https://pulsetherme.bg/en/) Treat yourselves...You can thank me later :-)
Another top notch attraction were ATVs. Extremely professional and top qualioty from every aspect. (https://banskoatv.com/)
In short, Bankso was an unbeleivable experience and we highly recommend it as a great holiday spot.

Are there any cities in Bulgaria that don't have a '00s or '90s vibe?
A typical resort town in the Russian hinterland.
A cafe with a green lawn where fat kids of Baltic parents run, next to a half-ruined park. It's so reminiscent of the early '00s that it's hard to believe that this vibe still exists somewhere in the post-Soviet space. Yes, Bulgaria is the wild, wild West :)

Blagoevgrad makes the impression of a clean and well designed city. There is fish in the local river, which is relatively small. Peaceful streets, well-kept compared to other cities in the country. Tasty food with many options. There is also a historical part of the city, as an example of ancient architecture.

Melnik is the smallest town of Bulgaria.
Melnik is the smallest town of Bulgaria. Picturesque architecture, small cobbled streets, most of the houses are small restaurants and hotels. The town is among the examples of old architecture in the Balkans. There is the Kordopulov house to visit - a museum hosted in a big wine producer's house from the XVIII century. Also interesting are several other examples of late medieval architecture. Local food and wine are notorious. Especially the wine. However, drink with caution - local red wines are heavy and require a good balance with the food.

Ognyanovo is small village with natural thermal water.
Ognyanovo is small village with natural thermal water. It is quiet, nice place with great nature. It is perfect for city escape travel. You can eat in hotel restaurant or in one of lot small tavernas. The Pirin Mountain is few km. away, and it is one of most beautiful mountains that I have ever seen.

Extremely beautiful nature and surrounding area with a lot to explore. A plethora of different dining options, although limited to a traditional cuisine. The people, as far as my personal experience, was more than friendly and talkative. I had the fortune of being shown around by a local, who i might say is awesome, which is an understatement, however, you can get by just by asking around.
One of the better local wines I have had in Bulgaria. Petrich allows you to detach from the day-to-day life of the big city, while still providing all the 'needed' amenities such as big shops, banks and general services.
Most importantly, if Bulgarian, Petrich allows you to "expand" your vocabulary and understanding of the language itself. I thoroughly recommend a visit!

Aspen Golf resort is located a few kilometers above the main road leading to Bansko. There are several smaller markets in the area. Lidl is located in Ralog, 6 km away. from the resort. The resort is located in a very quiet place in nature.
Some buildings are not completed because the tourist complex is being built.

Pleasant, attractive town at the base of the mountains with...
Pleasant, attractive town at the base of the mountains with plenty of accommodation options. A 15km bus ride takes one to the main mountain hiking area, while the cable car also offers a similar service. In the evening there is a lively restaurant scene with live, local music. We visited in the summer & did some great hikes. For ski enthusiasts, things get even better in the winter. This town is definitely one of the 'must visit' places in Bulgaria.

Great to visit in the cooler months - September through June. Wonderful spa town with healing mineral waters, beautiful spa hotels, historical sites, nice food and lots to explore in the area - Melnik, Rozhen monastery, wineries, nature hikes and trails (the Melnik pyramids and others).
