Our stay at Inti Wat'a was so beautiful. The view over the lake is amazing, and the area around the lodge is so tranquil. It is a beautiful walk through farmland and nice views over the lake to get to the nearby ruins. The dinner served at Oscar's family restaurant in town is excellent. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Beautiful sunrise view from terrace and bedroom window from second floor. Relatively new rooms with modern bathroom and hot shower. WiFi was good. Breakfast was filling. About 30 minutes walk up but that means you're only 10 minutes from the top where you can find lots of restaurants with sunset views. Nicely decorated room.

The hotel is close to the port, so no need to walk too much with luggage. It has an amazing view of the lake and the host is super nice and accommodating. Although the listing says there's no internet, it actually has the best and most consistent wifi we've had our entire trip and the same goes for the hot water. Best shower we had in 2 weeks! They provide food as well, nothing fancy, but delicious and fresh.

I have serious dietary restrictions and the staff went above and beyond to make sure I could eat both dinner and breakfast! Amazing! Also, it's worth mentioning that there are donkeys that bring your belongings up to the property for you so that you don't have to carry them. The walk is long, but it's beautiful! And without having to haul your stuff, it becomes a sightseeing event. Don't hesitate booking this place!

We liked that you can walk to all attractions.

We liked that you can walk to all attractions. You can see films from some of them if you go to youtube and the channel for Karlmark International and the playlist for Bolivia. The ascents are at times very tiring, so it's good to walk slowly. Watch out for the old couples that sometimes try to get extra fees from you when you are on the trails. They are modern day robbers, but just don't give them anything, or see it as a tip for nothing. Both the long (over the hill) and the short (along the coast) hike to Challapampa are nice. You can easily reach the temple of the sun from a little above the harbour in Yumani.

    The island is steep.

The island is steep. Once you leave Yumani port you are climbing uphill at altitude. Initially the Escalera del Inca is picturesque but will stretch your lungs. After that there is more uphill. The walking surfaces are rough and uneven, if walking at night bring a torch. The views are fantastic! The best place to catch sunset and sunrise views is probably the highest part of Yumani village. From there going uphill to Mirador Palla Khalsa gives great 360 degree views.

    Wonderful getaway!

Wonderful getaway! The island has no cars, but lots of donkeys and llamas. We were able to find a couple good places to have dinner and watch the sunset. We also were able to explore the island, walk to the ruins and the viewpoints and just relax. While walking up the first set of stairs, I took off my sling bag to take a couple layers off - the sun was out and I was overheating. I forgot my sling there and noticed that it was missing about 10 minutes later. I re-traced my steps and couldn't find it, so I chatted with a couple of the locals and showed them a picture of what it looked like. Within 10 minutes of chatting with the locals, my sling was located and I was able to pick it up a little further up the trail. I thought that experience spoke well of the locals and what they are trying to promote - an enjoyable, safe, relaxing experience. We will come back to the Isla del Sol on our next visit to La Paz.
