Although Freeport is not the same since the hurricane, you can see they are making an effort to cater to tourists at the hotels/resorts. During this stay at Lighthouse Pointe at Lucayan Grand Bahama - All Inclusive from July 22nd to July 28th, 2025, every person we encountered was professional, knowledgeable, and accommodating. The island is still a beautiful place to relax and enjoy solitude.Guest review byKimberley 2023United States - 10.0

Freeporters are very friendly and if you are looking for a stay in a place that is safe, and free from razmatazz (mostly!), with wonderful beaches, and no crowds, then this is the place to come. My only quibble are the airport transfer times from the UK via Nassau. On my return journey, I was waiting for 7.5 hours at Nassau Intl Airport with nowhere to leave my bags (BA would not take my bags until check-in opened), so instead of going into town and spend some money in the local economy, I was stuck in the Airport! That will probably prevent me ever returning through Nassau.Guest review byDouglasUnited Kingdom - 10.0

I love the Bahamas and Freeport is one of our favorite places to visit. It is remote while also having everything you need to have a great stay. We have visited many of the outlying beaches that are less visited, and they never disappoint. Most of the time, we have the whole beach to ourselves. Somewhat disappointed that Carnival is building their cruise key on Freeport, but we shall see how it changes things.Guest review byODea
