JapanGlen greeted us warmly and allowed us to check in early so we could drop off our bags while we went out to the Fortress. The house is absolutely lovely--exactly what we were looking for on our Canadian countryside journey! It's very well maintained and the furniture is out of a movie from 70 years ago. Also, the breakfast was delicious and far exceeded expectations! They adjusted for my wife (vegetarian) as well.

CanadaOur overall experience was Great beautiful scenery great location. however, we were overcharged by $100 and had I have not caught the issue. It wouldn’t have been fixed not to mention then had to wait 3 to 5 days for them to send it back which was I was not impressed with however, I did get the money back. I love this location and the staff was easy to deal with.

What a quaint place to visit, the Port of Sydney, the Big...
What a quaint place to visit, the Port of Sydney, the Big Fiddle, the boardwalk and the shopping was great. I was there during the Celtic Festival and had a great time. When the cruise ships are docked, there is small vendors open for shopping and I found some great items for purchase. It was easy to get around the city, although at the time of our visit, there was some construction going on, which slowed down the traffic. All in all i would love to come back in the future!!

we didn't stay long enough to get a real feel for the place. the ocean side and road trip around the Cabot Trail were the best, stopping at the different parkways on the trip. our hosts were great and informative about the whole experience. The roads are great to travel on. The people are friendly and helpful everywhere we went. The roadside stops were very scenic just as we were told they would be. definitely going back again someday!

Not much that can be said other than it's a good place to stop for groceries (a big Sobey's) and wine (NSLB) on the way to more scenic parts of Cape Breton. We can recommend lunch at the Fleur de Lys restaurant in that same shopping centre. Doesn't look like much but the hospitality, chowder ad biscuits are great!

This was our second trip to North Sydney.
This was our second trip to North Sydney. This trip we used as bookends to our ferry trip to and from Newfoundland. This is a quiet little town, surrounded by incredible beauty. The Black Spoon is a must if you enjoy good food. Friendly people and lots to do. NS would be a good home base for exploring the area.

We LOVED our accommodations, the quiet and the beach! Most restaurant food was very good. Loved whale watching and the gondola.
Would have like a continental breakfast as there were no restaurants within walking distance. Also, restaurants close too early and many ran out of food so decided to close! 150 people at the pizza place (because no place else was open with availability) on a Sunday wasn’t fun.

The location was great for us we had stayed there a couple of years ago it was clean so we booked there again complete opposite the room was dirty stained chairs and carpets bathroom walls and baseboards we not clean

A lovely small community on the lake.
A lovely small community on the lake. A pretty place to stop for a picnic and a walk along the bay. You can spot giant blue herons and bald eagles and enjoy the beautiful views - especially at sunset from the dock at the community centre.

Lovely place. Scenery great. Food at Main Street Restaurant was very good, deserts were extremely good but expensive. Cape Smokey Gondola was very interesting with great view from the top. The Gondola was a little expensive for someone who only went up and down after seeing the view. There were some trails but didn't seem to be well marked.

When I left (For the second year running) there are no facilities to obtain refreshments if you have a long wait. (I arrived because of check out time 11:30 and the flight did not leave until 16:45) That is a long wait without the ablitly to have some refreshments.

We greatly enjoyed Baddeck's Lobster Suppers.
We greatly enjoyed Baddeck's Lobster Suppers. The food was incredibly delicious, and the service given by Carley was excellent. All staff generated a warm and welcoming atmosphere.
The Bean There Cafe also offered friendly service with delicious coffee.
The town is conveniently located for us to travel the Cabot Trail.
