There isn’t much to do in Geneva: the huge fountain and Lake Geneva, and that’s about it. The Old Town is not very big or particularly interesting compared to many other cities in Central Europe. I recommend a visit to Mount Salève, which offers beautiful views over the canton, the city, and Lake Geneva. The city provides a free public transport card if you stay in a hotel, and one bus line goes directly to the starting point of the cable car. Geneva has a wide range of good restaurants serving cuisines from around the world. As for local food, I find it overloaded with cheese. Eating out is very expensive; expect to spend at least 40 CHF (about 40 €) per person for lunch, with dinner costing even more. Geneva is not a large city, and the central area feels relatively small. What bothered me most was the noticeable prostitution, homelessness, and drug use, especially around the main railway stationGuest review byRistoFinland - 6.0

A good jumping off place for work at the UN or generally in Geneva. A very nice little town with plenty of amenities within easy walking distance. Public transport right across the street. Noisy with the train tracks just across the street and jet arrivals every 2-3 minutes from the early morning to about 23:00. The lifts will drive you crazy. Helpful staff, especially Debora at the desk and Joseph in the dining area. There are cheaper alternatives on the French side but less conveniently situated.Guest review byRianSwitzerland - 2.0

Actually, Booking.Com is recklessly negligent in still advertising the Subject Property in Vesenaz because the latter has claimed that it has stopped accepting bookings since the start of the year, and so why did the former take my money/claimed my booking was confirmed. The decent thing to do Booking.Com is not only return my money, but also compensate me for painstakingly finding a substitute accommodation that is almost four times more expensive than the Subject Property that failed/refused me entry on 28 March 2023.Guest review byROY BASANESPhilippines - 10.0
A great place to stay!
A great place to stay! The host is such an amazing person and easily approachable. The apartment was so clean with all necessary facilities and my family as a whole enjoyed a lot and I would rate this apartment as the best ever I've stayed so far. Highly recommend! Very good for the pricing.Guest review byRozina - 4.0
Ridiculously expensive city with not a great deal to do.
Ridiculously expensive city with not a great deal to do. It's so expensive it spoilt our stay. Even McDonald's was expensive! Google top things to do in Geneva and half the things are trips out of the city. That said, its nice and clean and the people are really friendly, helpful and polite. It's a great place to base yourself to visit Chamonix or Annecy. Transport links are good and the railway network is excellent.Guest review byPaulUnited Kingdom - 8.0

For a small town -- great restaurants within walking distance of hotel. Pastry shop across from the hotel -- amazing. Pizza restaurant down the street was wonderful. Aldi across from the train platform -- perfect for snacks and wine.Guest review byTammieUnited States - 8.0
Excellent free (with hotel issued travel pass)...
Excellent free (with hotel issued travel pass) transportation it is a very easy city to explore. Friendly shop and restaurant staff. The park and lake side walks are super and all the usual shopping opportunities. The only downside is the number of people asking for money and cigarettes which unfortunately is common all over the world. However, we were never troubled or felt threatened in any way and were able to go anywhere without problems or fear.Guest review byMahbilIndia
