We always stay at the Falken when we are in Memmingen. Location is great, staff always provide excellent service. Rooms are clean, good size and reasonably priced for such a central location and walk in showers are powerful and well proportioned. Breakfast is very good.

What a delightful place!! If it weren't for a chance accident, I may never have found it!! Extremely comfortable, clean and well furnished, it has all the merits to be a top choice for Hohenschwangau!! What places it firmly there are the two ladies, Judith and Diyana!! The room was very nice, it had a lovely alpine style and it was very light, 2 windows and a door to the balcony. The view was really amazing, we could see the lake and mountains. Nice walks to be made from the hotel. Next to the hotel on walking distance there is a lovely biological farm with happy cows and chickens, where we could buy biological eggs. We loved observing these lovely cows, who could walk outside whenever they felt like it. The atmoshere in the dining hall was also pleasant. And the breakfast was very good. A nice range of choices, also for us vegetarians. Dinner for vegetarians was great. Not much choice, only 2 options, this could be improved of course, but both dishes were very good. Staff was very friendly and attentive.

On a long roadtrip between the UK and Croatia, we chose this hotel because of It's location and as we had a dog with us we thought it would be great for walking her. This couldn't have been more perfect. Picture postcard scenery, beautiful walks from the front door, friendly staff, excellent facilities and a very comfortable bedroom. We wish we had stayed an extra night and didn't like to leave! The air is so clean, the lake in front of the hotel is crystal clear, nature at its very best. Dinner was a surprise, very good indeed, and breakfast was comprehensive and very good quality. We will definitely go back, we promised to drop some Yorkshire tea off for Martin, the kind and friendly gardener!

Clean comfortable hotel in a beautiful location with excellent spa facilities. Plus points for us was tesla charger included in cost, we are a family of vegetarians and vegans and we're well catered for. Ate in restaurant for 3 meals, all excellent with great service. Staff very friendly and helpful. We opted for a balcony room for one of us which was amazing with views of neuschwanstein Castle and the lake and mountains. 2 other rooms were without the view but were large and comfortable.

We were only there to see the castle.

We were only there to see the castle. It was a very quick trip so we really didn't explore Fussen. We were there in December, so it was cold and snowy, which was magical and we loved, but didn't spend time outdoors other than seeing the castle. I am sure summertime is much better season to see this darling town!

Oberstdorf is an incredible hamlet to visit in any season, but especially at non-peak times. It has incredible views and access to the mountains/valleys for recreation. Food is great and plenty of window shopping, but prices can be a bit high. Be sure to check ahead of time as many activities and facilities are closed seasonally!

I followed the tourist information office trail. There are a dozen buildings worth seeing. Because I was only there one night, I didn't have time to go in any but photos, especially of the Residenz interior look as if I would have loved a visit!

Memmingen itself is charming and full of things to explore. The old town is beautifully preserved, with historic buildings, cobblestone streets, and picturesque squares. There are plenty of local shops, cozy cafés, and traditional restaurants offering Bavarian specialties. The town has a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere, and walking around the center feels very safe and pleasant. There are also small museums, churches, and cultural landmarks that showcase Memmingen’s history. Even a short visit gives you a taste of local life, but there’s enough to keep you busy for a day or two — I only stayed for a stopover and missed experiencing much of it, so I would definitely return for a longer visit.

Excellent little Bavarian town.

Excellent little Bavarian town. Surrounded by trails, mountains etc. If you don’t like quiet, then this is not for you. But Oberstaufen is located a short drive from the towns of Lake Konstanz and all the touristy things that you may require.

Problem with parking and no internet connection. This place is for animal not for human. Dirty socks front of the door. Used dishes and leave it in kitchen. If you open the fridge, you have a fiiling that there died some animal, not for food. Best thing it was hole in the wall, where you can see out of the apt. and it was not possible to cover somehow. It was fck cold inside, because od this hole. The kitchen is unusable, I don't understand how they can rent it without cleaning, they leave a used fork there. Bathroom, same story, dirty, dust and mold. Go away from here. [12:18] Orecny Peter Nothing was good. I can only say, go away from here or do not make a reservation here. This apt. is really only for animal. Location, not good, problem with the parking. Not internet conection.

Leaflet produced by the Schwangau tourist office on winter walks was useful. The Schwangau guest card gives free local bus travel and reduced entry to local attractions. Castles need to be booked in advance to ensure entry, or join a tour group at higher cost.

Magical place to stay for winter holidays, surrounded with lots of ski and tobogganing tracks, great communication with another villages. Food scene quite limited , same as night entertainment, I would rather to have a bit more of this to spend betters nights.

Füssen is not a typical mountain town with local atmosphere.

Füssen is not a typical mountain town with local atmosphere. It is a stop-over for most travelers to visit the famous castles pictures in movies. Hundreds of international travelers pour off the train and proceed directly to the buses to visit the castles. Therefore, the feeling in the town is "weird." // Yes, it's a tourist town, but not upscale or posh. The restaurants are overly-priced. I saw numerous street people shuffling thru the streets and going thru the trash cans! // But, the museum in St. Mang monastery was one of the finest museums I've ever visited. // So, the mountains, museums, brilliant sunshine, Old Town architecture were well-worth a visit. However, the surreal lack of local pride and flair in the town was off-putting.

The scenery is breathtaking. A variety of restaurants offer both traditional Bavarian food and ethnic specialities.
