Great wellness hotel with outstanding service. We were here to celebrate my Birthday and receive a great treat from the Check-in moment and all the staffs seems to acknowledge about this so everyone said HBD. This is very impressive to me. This family owned Hotel is very well decorated and managed. The room is very spacious with comfortable bed and great balcony with beautiful view from the Bodensee. Spa area is very nice, well decorated , and the treatment was also very good. The dinner is very delicious with various dishes to choose from plus the great wine recommendations from one of the Lady Boss (I forget her name). I would definitely come back to stay here and would recommend this!!

The location was wonderful, there are no beaches, but you can get in the water through docks with stairs. The lake is so clear! Unfortunately, we were in one of the few rooms with no balcony and no view. There was construction going on a property a few houses away so this woke us up if we had the window open. There are lots of jogging/walking trails and places to chill by the water. It's worth the expense for a special occasion as a middle-class person, it is on the very expensive side. For the two nights, we stayed there, we did feel like royalty.

I travel alone for work, and these are my first trips after being hospitalized with pleuritis and pneumonia. Because of this, I need extra comfort, such as resting and eating in between. The staff was extremely helpful and understanding. It is always nice to stay somewhere where personal contact and customer friendliness are central. This is definitely the case here, and I will certainly return. Also to walk there is amazing, pictures below.

We liked the beauty of Bregenz which is situated alongside Lake Constance. There are nice restaurants & cafes, shops, walks, boats etc and we enjoyed the cable car ride to see the small farm, great for children and the views of the mountains are spectacular. The area is excellent for cyclists & runners, and for people with mobility issues. There are ferries which go to the small German island of Lindau, which is worth a visit and it takes 20-30 minutes. Quite a few of the cafes shops and restaurants are closed on a Sunday.

It’s a great travel destination for locals to get away from...

It’s a great travel destination for locals to get away from the bigger cities, but for those from out of the country, it gives you a glimpse of German charm, but without the long lines and congestion. If you’re a water person like me, you’ll enjoy the many places you can swim, view, or take a ferry across the lake to other destinations. A must is the island Mainau and enjoy the flowers and butterfly garden. Stop at the castle and church. The views are beautiful of Lake Konstanz. Top off with a bite to eat and some gift shopping before leaving. Recommend 3-4 to get it all in. The ferry ride over is the best, however, you can take a bus as well. The city is quaint and a lot of fun to walk and see. The waterfront allows you walk right up to the Imperial Lady Konstanz. If you have kids, the aquarium is just a couple minutes away. Take the Ferris wheel to get a view from high. If you want a spa like experience, I recommend the thermal pool (Bodensee therme)right on the lake. Indoor and outdoor pools. Great for kids or without. My favorite is always the ferry rides. So pick a destination and enjoy your time!

General walkability of the town. Pretty houses, interesting boutiques. The opera at Bregenz and boat trip to go there from Lindau were magical. We ate twice in the restaurant on the terrace outside the Lindauerhof hotel and liked its menu and flexible approach. Ate once in Karisma - excellent. We liked morning coffee in the Cantinetta with lovely uninterrupted views of the lake. Aperitifs and people-watching, and buskers outside the Bayerischer hotel. Very helpful advice from an Englishwoman in the Tourist Office. The Bodensee free travel pass was great. We liked the Hotel garni Brugger's friendly atmosphere and its location

Überlingen is a city in a strategic location for trips to the beautiful part of the lake. Easy access to places to visit. (Meersburg, Mainau Island, museum houses on stilts, nice beaches with beach service Hagnau ...) It is possible to get the ECHT Bodensee card. It allows visitors to travel by train and bus for free. We did not use it because we were traveling by bike and car. Parking is quite available everywhere (sometimes it is quite full, but you can always find a place), for a fee.

A little off the beaten track, but plenty to do.

A little off the beaten track, but plenty to do. Boating, swimming, rent bikes and visit the towns nearby. Hop on the bus (very simple to use and covered by the hotel tourist card) to visit nearby towns, get to the train station, or the ferry station. We were able to visit Lindau-Insel on a day trip by bus/train, spend 5-6 hours there, and still made it back in time for dinner and watching the sunset over the lake. Konstanz, and Insel Mainau are easily reachable by bus/ferry.

St Gallen is a great city to visit with the wonderful Abbey, Cathedral and Library. There are a lot of lovely shops, cafes and restaurants in the old town and beautiful old buildings. You can go up into the hills either side. On one side you can visit the Wild Park with goats, deer, wild pigs and trails through the woods. On the other side you can go up to the three ponds, to swim, play sports or relax. There are also lovely parks in the old town, museums and other attractions.

Bregenz is a lovely little town, and they have always going...

Bregenz is a lovely little town, and they have always going on in the harbour area. Contrary to the hotel, the town and especially the people there are LOVELY. Just go there, you will not be let down
