Berlin is truly charming, vibrant and incredibly diverse city. This wasn't my first time visiting, but I'd gladly return anytime - the unique, open-minded atmosphere is simply captivating. During my 3-day trip, I managed to explore countless iconic sights and vibrant neighborhoods, yet there is still so much left to discover for my next visit. Every street corner and building seems to tell its own unique story, and the city felt well-kept, welcoming, and easy to navigate. I wholeheartedly recommend it to solo travelers, as it feels safe, open and endlessly inspiring. Without a doubt, Berlin is currently my absolute favorite city!

For my any tourist including my fellow runnerswho would be coming to Berlin to run the BMW Berlin Marathon, this is a perfect hotel with all the amenities you need and it is located 50 minutes to 1h15 minutes from the marathon expo and the start line and Berlin downtown all with public transit trains + bus. The public transit is very reliable and FREQUENT and comes in different options. No need to worry about missing a train or a bus. In the neighborhood, there are some places you can eat at including a burger and shawarma restaurants restaurants. When you exit the hotel, walk to your right to the next stop located about 50 meters and take the tramway 91. There is a bakery, where you can buy delicious patisserie and coffee for your breakfast; it is located at walking distance 150 meters from the hotel. The hotel staff is very friendly and helpful. Book this hotel as soon as you are accepted to the marathon if you don't want to miss it. Other hotels located downtown are way more expensive and not better than this hotel.

It's a convenient area in terms of access to the train line and airport, but it's not a very nice area. I didn't feel particularly safe walking around, and there are no cafes or restaurants and absolutely nothing to do or see. For any of this, you need to jump on a train into Berlin itself. We were just too worn out from all our travels to do so. There is a supermarket however. There are better hotels than the pension we stayed in, but so expensive! They are definitely capitalising on the convenience to the airport, and not worth the money seeing as it's such a poor area.

Beautiful town in Spreewald. We were only 3 days there and it was far from enough. Arrive in the midlle of week, there will be fewer tourists. Go for a breakfast to Bubner, visit the City museum, and of course go kayaking!

Rheinsberg is a charming little town with a relaxed atmosphere and beautiful scenery. The lake is stunning, and there are lovely walking paths as well as boat tours, making it a great place to unwind. That said, I was surprised by how expensive everything was. Accommodation and restaurants are quite pricey, especially considering the size of the town. Even in July, during the summer season, I found that some restaurants were closed, and many had very limited opening hours. I wouldn't recommend staying for too many days if you're looking for nightlife or lots of variety. However, if you enjoy opera and classical music, Rheinsberg is an excellent destination. The Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg offers beautiful performances in a unique setting and is definitely one of the town's highlights. Getting there is fairly easy, as the town has a train station and a few bus connections. However, I wasn't able to find any car rental services in town, so it's worth planning your transportation in advance.

Bad Saarow is a lovingly designed health resort with many small shops, restaurants, bars, a small cinema, a wonderful bathing beach with a beach bar, a boat harbor and very nice people. The area is ideal for relaxing, hiking, swimming, boating and unwinding.

My girlfriend and I found it to be a very pleasant city worth spending a few nights in. We live in Berlin and it was a lovely city break. Highly recommended for couples looking to escape Berlin for a weekend.

Charming city on the Oder river where you can walk across the bridge to Poland and explore its twin town on the Polish side. Food cheap food go to the Polish side and for charm and great German beer stay on the German side. Definitely worth a long weekend visit.

Berlin is a special city. Huge, with lots of space to walk, cycle. The public transportation is excellent, so it´s easy to go anywhere. A city with so much to see, and the best is in the details. There is so much history, so much culture, in the main areas, like Mitte, everyone speaks English, so there is no worries with language barrier. Cafes are fantastic, plenty of bakeries with delicious food, tons of multi cultural restaurants of great quality. And if you are a runner, take your running shoes to Berlin, because you´re gonna have lots of fun! If you´re going there in December, the main attractions are the Christmas markets, which are gorgeous!
