I stay at this hotel when I travel to Leer. The location of this hotel is excellent. I love the view of the lake. Inside the hotel, they offer a minibar at no cost. It is very generous, as I almost didn't see any other hotel offering it. On top of that, the breakfast is very good. There is nothing to complain about. If the wifi gets a little better than it is now, that would be better.

We had a superior double room on 6th floor with an amazing view over the port. The staff was so professional, kind and competent, especially those at the breakfast service. While variety for breakfast was not huge, everything was delicious and never in short supply. The room was not too big, but just enough for a couple's short stay, with a safe, bathrobes and free mini bar (with an extra bottle of water in the room). Bathroom with shower so neat! I'd love to visit again the city and stay in this hotel. Make sure you have a look at the weather before you go. It seems there is very often (really strong!) wind and rain.

A true 4* experience. We were perfectly taken care of, including our little baby. 🍼 We had a very clean baby bed, including super cute bed linens and towels. 🍱 Breakfast was very rich. The staff made sure to make us feel very comfortable and took care of us and our baby. They even gave our baby a little snack! 🛌 The bed was awesome. Nothing to complain there. Our room also came with a HUGE balcony!

The room was excellent and had everything you needed from small kitchenette to hot water boiler and even a toaster. Breakfast was included in the price and the selection was plentiful. We also ate in the restaurant and the food was really good ! The value for money on both the room price and the food in the restaurant were outstanding .I would highly recommend this place.

The staff is very friendly and happy to help. The location is easy to reach from the Ferry, about 20 minutes walking or by taking a bus. Breakfast is excellent, with multiple options and very delicious food. We had a room to the street and it could get a bit loud late at night, but as soon as you close the windows, it's complete silence

It is a safe and clean city. There is not much to do in winter since the weather is usually cold. Nordsee Passage is a small mall with enough shops. The beach is a nice place to walk if you are resistant to the cold. The train station is easy to access.

The 'Kunsthalle' with its brilliant collection of paintings, 'Henri's' Restaurant beside it, the Rathaus, its museum and the 'Nebenan-Cafe' (where the focus is on good coffee, diversity and tolerance) are places one should take time to explore and enjoy. A nice and quiet place for reading a book or the paper is the 'Lese Cafe' on Brückstraße (the pedestrian area behind the Rathaus). Listen to the Rathaus 'Glockenspiel' playing 'Ode to Joy' and other lovely tunes at every full hour. Emden is a town where the memories of its past are well documented. Visit the 'Bunkermuseum'. Look out for information about the fate of the Jewish population. Over 400 'Stolpersteine' are testament of how serious the town believes in 'Democracy requires remembrance.

We are interested in nature and landscapes. Greetsiel for us was a gem. The harbour area was very atmospheric. The paths around the edge of the water were a gateway to some great wildlife without going far - we saw or heard lots of wildfowl and other birds, as well as hares and very loud water frogs. There are plenty of restaurants, and there's a good supermarket in walking distance. For us, Greetsiel ticks a lot of boxes.

We did not see Leer at its best on this visit, as it was cold and raining, and you need to wander round to appreciate the town, which has an interesting centre and an open air museum of historical ships in the old harbour. We had been to Leer before, and on this occasion only spent one evening as we were "in transit". The old harbour, with the "Waage" and views of the church is very interesting, and a visit to Bunting's tea shop and/or the museum is a must. The area round Leer is fascinating, with many old villages in a mainly flat and peaty landscape.

The city offers Beautiful canals, welcoming shops, an excellent museum, and wonderful food. From The excellent fine dining and atmosphere of Feuerschiff on the restored ship, to the outdoor seating area of the Grand Café on the square with musical note tiles, the charm of Emden’s restaurants provides an experience to be remembered. The museum was a pleasant surprise and thoroughly documents and portrays the rich and extremely old history of the city. Our family walked a great deal through the town and always felt safe, even late at night. I would strongly recommend this City to travelers and families seeking to experience East Frisian culture.
