Set in Westerland in the Sylt Region, Das Windhuk is only 1312 feet from Waterpark Sylter Welle. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and private parking is available on site for a charge. We had a fantastic stay in this hotel for my birthday at the beginning of July. The hotel is ideally located, in the center of the island's capital, yet close to the beach and not in the hectic. It is perfect if you want to be close to the restaurants and shops, yet also have the beach nearby for early morning or evening strolls. The other villages and points of interest can be easily reached by bicycle or by car because Westerland is in the center of the island. Both the studio and suite we had booked were well appointed and very cosy, decorated with beautiful Riviera Maison furniture (not the typical hotel decoration). The beds were really very comfortable (and I'm very picky for the beds). The small kitchinette is very well designed and integrated into the decor of the room. The coffee (nespresso) and toiletries are replenished every day. The staff is extremely friendly. A special mention for Sven who gave us wonderful recommendations for restaurants, and the cleaning staff who were always very helpful and always very friendly, and the dark-haired lady (sorry I don't remember her name) who welcomed us so kindly on our first evening on Sylt (June 29th). The hotel had also organized the renting of three bycicles for us, which is a highly appreciated service so we didn't have to spend a morning doing that ourselves. On demand there is a parking spot for your car as well. The breakfast is excellent, with an incredible choice of jams and salty options (cheese, delicious verrines and cold cuts). The choice of verrines is really something unique! Another quite unique thing is that the staff remembered my birthday and had organized a small birthday cake and a glass of champagne as we arrived for breakfast. I've often stayed in hotels for my birthday, but it's the first time the staff spontaneously had this nice gesture. We will be back for sure!

From $92 per nightRoom was clean and looked like had been renovated not too ling ago (hotel itself seems to be a bit older). In sylt terms the value for money was ok. Couldn‘t find anything cheaper on such short notice (booked the night before) and served our purpose very well (which was to sleep and have breakfast the next day). Breakfast was good, service was good too. If you are looking for a good value for money option and don‘t need a fancy-schmanzy Sylt accomodation, i can recommend it.

This hotel is excellent, it was our first time in Sylt and the hotel was perfectly located for the exploration of Sylt. It is located very close to the beach (like 1 min walk) from there you could reach nice places for food or coffee (5 mins walk) and around the corner was Edeka, pharmacy and bike rental shops. The food in hotel was delicious as we had dinner there twice. Sauna and pool were super clean and made our stay even more relaxing.

Whenever I come back to Sylt for the Petro Surf Festival I like to stay at the Wyn. Strandhotel Sylt. There are better and more luxurious hotels on the island but this one tick all the boxes also when you are traveling with a slightly smaller budget. It's a great compromise, on the seafront bang in the center of Westerland.

Sylt is a beautifully Island. I absolutely loved it there! The hotel is good. Good breakfast, nice room, decent lobby. I liked the look of the hotel even though it is a bit outdated. Parking is available for around 18 euros per day and there are, at least while I was there, more than enough parking spaces available.

Overall excellent service and excellent quality. The reception was fantastic, we felt welcomed. The portier was super friendly and helpful, informative, and had a perfect touch on everything. Umbrellas were promptly supplied when they saw we were headed outside and it was raining.
