PortugalHonestly we enjoyed staying here so much, we were talking about plans on buying a house there one day! The room is awesome, with such a lovely view of the mountains that you don't get just by looking at the photos. The bathroom is very good, the whole apartment was very clean and cosy. If you're into cats, you will be very well greeted once you arrive at the place. Also, walking around in the village is also a nice thing to do at night!

Quiet location close to town. Very friendly owners and staff. Fine breakfast provided, excellent varied options for inexpensive and delicious dinner every evening, prepared by owner and well trained soups chef. Our terrace area was private, with nice field/Mountain View’s, and cool garden spiders in awesome orb webs catching grasshoppers in a huge lavender plant-nature right there! Stay here if going to Benasque area.

They were very flexible when I had to change my non-refundable booking at the last moment. I got lots of help from reception: washing clothes, details of a local physiotherapist; recommendation for restaurants; help with local bus services to high mountains; recommendations about shops; a great breakfast; checkout at noon and storage for my bags after checkout. Very nice people!

The rooms were very clean, with a beautiful view of the mountains. Close to lots of hiking paths and has an amazing restaurant that we ended up eating at almost every night as the quality was spectacular and the price very reasonable.

Excellent apartment, very convenient, a quite area 5 minutes walk from the village center, the village itself is very nice, there is washing machine and dryer at the basement for free usage, all was good and I was very pleased

I visited Benasque to compete in the Vuelta al Aneto trail...
I visited Benasque to compete in the Vuelta al Aneto trail race. The race started and ended in Benasque. Benasque is a great base for outdoor activities (hiking, trail running, mountain biking) with many shops providing gear and support for your adventures. My friends who visited with me are not into outdoor adventures, but enjoyed the beautiful town, restaurants and bars immensely.

An unspoilt small village, but be aware some restaurants are not open every day and many only open at 8pm.
We ate in a few different places and food was good and staff were both helpful and friendly in all.
Nice long and short scenic trails, but ensure you take a map of the walks with you as there are many variations of trails and would be easy for inexperienced to take the wrong routes when returning.

Eriste is a great spot from which to explore the Benasque...
Eriste is a great spot from which to explore the Benasque valley. In summers it can be reasonably busy in Benasque, so Eriste is a bit more quiet. The village is not that large and there aren't that many restaurants for example. But Benasque is very near. Reachable by car, bike or public transport. There are alot of activities to do in the valley, especially during the summer, when the weather is good. You can go canyoning, do ferratas, go swimming, kayaking, rafting, hiking, climbing, etc. Late September the buses only go into the national parks during the weekends. Something to consider. It is a bit isolated, the other valleys can take a while to drive to. Vielha is about an hour away, as is Ainsa. Overal a great place to come and relax if you love the outdoors!

- Casa Castan is an immaculate restored large home with beautiful rooms in a small Medieval village named Liri on a secluded rural hillside. Stunning Vistas! Pleasant staff. Excellent dining room and breakfast.

Absolutely beautiful, felt like we were inside a Disney movie. That being said, there was not much to do except bars/restaurants and outdoor activities like hiking and skiing. Difficult to get anywhere without a car, but worth the effort for the views of the mountains.
The restaurant 'Hotel Aragüells Benasque' was very nice, 'Rincón Del Foc' was not good.

There are numerous good hikes in the area, even if you don't have your own transport. If you do, even better. It's an attractive traditional mountain village/small town and ideally placed for trekking in the high Pyrenees, including summits like Posets/Llardana and Aneto as well as the GR11 and its variants. Food and drink at bars and restaurants in the village were pretty good in general.
