They even gave us a complimentary room upgrade as we were there in the off season and they had availability. The staff were incredibly attentive and helpful, especially when giving us restaurant recommendations in Honfleur. Perfectly located as well. And the breakfast is simply magnificent. We stayed at Le M Hotel & Spa in Honfleur from September 4th–6th and had a fantastic experience. The hotel is clean, modern, and very comfortable. The breakfast was excellent with plenty of choice, and the staff were welcoming and attentive throughout our stay. Having great parking on-site was a real bonus, and the location is perfect—just a short walk or taxi to the marina with lots of wonderful restaurants and bars nearby. Would definitely recommend and happily return.

The staff was excellent -very friendly and helpful. Parking was free and if you had a tour the next day you were allowed to leave your car parked until your tour was finished. I can't say enough about the new hotel-everything was great! As was their breakfast-lots to choose from!

Bayeux is a great base from which to visit both Mont Saint Michel and the Normandy Beaches. Bayeux Shuttle has excellent guides. Bayuex itself is a great town to meander. The cathedral and the canal walk are extra bonuses.

My husband and I love exploring Caen.
My husband and I love exploring Caen. We have visited Caen a few times now and there's still more too see and explore.
As we dont drive we use the public transport to get around. Their transport system is spot on, we have never had any issues - their timings are spot on.
The travel tickets are easy to use once you know about them. They worked well for us and are cost effective as you have use 1 ticket for a single journey or a ticket that last from 24 hours to 72 hours and you can you them on all transports. The same travel card can be reused by topping up at the tram machines.
The area of Caen where we stayed was located near to the centre of Caen so it was in walking distance to the town.
Caen is a beautiful and clean historic city.
Well worth a visit.

Honfleur is a very atmospheric little harbour town full of independent art galleries, cafes and restaurants. Perfect for a relaxing couple of days. It is clearly set up for tourism. We visited in mid September so it wasn’t difficult to find places to eat.

Deauville is not big even with Trouville added.
Deauville is not big even with Trouville added. Its the northern Monte Carlo, but cleaner, ( not even a cigarette butt or any graffiti. ) The shops are absolutely outstanding and varied. Resturants excellent with some lovely true French cuisine served. The place even today could fit right back into the Art Deco era where it draws much inspiration from.

A friendly, welcoming town with a real sense of community
Ouistreham is a lovely, friendly town where I felt genuinely welcomed by everyone I met. I also felt very safe throughout my stay, which made exploring the area on foot a real pleasure.
One of the things that stood out most was the wonderful sense of community. This was particularly noticeable on the little free La Navette bus, where people greeted one another and there was a lovely, friendly atmosphere.

Bars and restaurants seem to close early, or for staff holidays - just because you see something you like does it mean it will be open this evening after 8.
Not the centre of Normandy from a WW2 perspective. But all easily drivable on excellent roads. Beware accumulated ANPR tolls.
Quiet but check parking is secure and guaranteed.

Trouville is such a great place for families, the beach is wonderful with lots of kids activities (horse riding, kayaks, trampolines, mini golf) and the restaurants and town is really lovely. It's also a very good hub if you don't have a car, as you can get buses to nearby towns like Honfleur and Cabourg. We also really enjoy the horse racing while we are there too - it's great for kids, as they have lots of free activities at the race track too. And a special shout out to the Cantine de Cyril (burger truck on the Toque canal) - they make the BEST burgers I've ever had and are absolutely lovely. Highly recommend a visit to Trouville, it's a gem!

The beach is stunning.
The beach is stunning. And the town centre is vibrant and full of restaurant and shopping options. We dined one night at a fabulous restaurant called "Le bouche a l'oreille". Afterwards we wandered through the nearby night markets, which were lively and colourful.
Everything is within walking distance.

Very nice old town and church.
Very nice old town and church. A few shops but futher out the usual large retail supermarkets. I was part of a group of 8 motorcyclists, who were staying to celebrate / commemorate the 80th anniversary of D Day Normandy landings. Also to visit local cemetaries to py respets to the fallen friens and brothers in arms who served with Grandfather in the 2nd WW and in prticular the normandy landings.

A small town set in a bay with lots to do and see if you are into your WWII history. If you are not then suggest you look elsewhere! Plenty of places to eat and drink and the roads are very good, so driving is quite easy - it is not like Paris!! The beach is excellent, sandy and goes on for miles, which made walking easy and pleasant. The surrounding hills provide easy walking and the scenery is quite spectacular. There are ample parking places around the town, many being pay and display at about 2.50 Euro per hour. Do your research before you go because there are a number of Free car parks (which get busy early). You can park in the free car parks for up to 4 days without penalty.
